"Hey, you!" Said Hannah excitedly giving me a hug. I stiffened but hugged back.
"Hey." I sighed.
"What's wrong?"
"I just have a lot on my mind right now, it's no big deal."
"If you don't talk about it now you never will, you're safe here." She looked me in my eyes with her deep ocean blue eyes. Nobody has ever said that in the way Hannah did I could feel like she actually meant what she said and I felt safe. Actually safe.
I sighed deeply. "My dad just kicked my older brother, Chad, out because he's gay too, and I'm afraid if I tell him he'll kick me out too. I have nowhere else to go, my mom doesn't want anything to do with us, so that's out. And....."
I started crying.
"Im sorry, I probably look like an idiot."
"No, you don't.you look like a person who had a lot in her heart, and if you need a place to stay, my door is always open."
I smiled wiping my eyes.
"Thank you." I managed between sobs.
"Do you want to just hang out here?"
"No, no let's do whatever you wanted. Don't let me ruin your plans."
"You sure? I mean I was just going to invite a couple friends over and have a movie marathon, but we don't have to."
"No we can do that, that'd be great in fact, the only human interaction I've had in a while is with Ash." I laughed.Hannah leaned down to look into my eyes.
"There's that smile." She smiled which made me smile wider.
Hannah's phone beeped signaling a text. She looked at it
"Okay, good because Grace and Mamrie are on their way, so go get dressed Silly Bear."
"Silly Bear? Really?"
"Yes, go get dressed."
I went to the bathroom, shit all I have are nice clothes. Shit shit shit, what do I do? I spent a good 20 minutes before deciding to tell her.
"Um, Hannah." I called.
"Yeah!"
"I only brought nice clothes."
"That's alright, I have extra onsies." She smiled, leading me into her room where then she led me to the closet, still smiling. She has Such a beautiful smile. It's almost like looking at a sunset in autumn.
Just then there was a knock at the door.
"You sure you're going to be okay?" Hannah asked
"Yeah, I just hate crying in front of people."
"Well, were going to have fun tonight, I promise. Wait, how old exactly are you?"
"Eighteen," I answered. "Why?"
"No reason."
There was another knock.
"I'd better get that." Hannah laughed.
She left me to get dressed.
"Hey guys." Hannah said loudly. I think she said something else but I didn't quite hear it.
"You ready yet, slow poke!"
"Uhh yeah, almost!"
"Well, c'mon then, were waiting. Silly Bear."
I sighed deeply and put on a carrot onsie and went into the living room. "Jeeze Hannah, where'd you find this one?"
"I picked her up on the side of the road." She giggled, elbowing my ribs
"She's cute, good job Hannah."
"Thanks Grace, I try." Said Hannah giggling even more. I love her giggle it's like listening to a soft rain storm in spring.
"What should we watch?" Hannah asked me.
This caught me off guard.
"Oh, I, uhhh, I don't know, what do you have?"
"What doesn't she have." Laughed Mamrie.
"Im pretty sure she's not asking about those movies, besides I don't have any." Blushed Hannah. Making me look down and smile out of embarrassment. Which must have been adorable because when I looked up Hannah was smiling at me.
"You never answered, Beth."
"Oh right uhh. Do you have any JLaw movies?"
"Typical lesbian question." Joked Grace.
"I have an idea," said Hannah excitedly. "Camp Takota!"
"Okay, I'm cool with that." "Cool!"
Hannah put the movie on, and I curled up in the onsie sort of away from everyone. Until Hannah noticed and pulled me closer. Normally I'd avoid this type of situation because I'm not a "lets sit close and cuddle" type.
But I felt safe for once, actually, really safe. So I leaned over and lied my head on Hannah's shoulder.
