"I was born on November second nineteen ninety six." Hannah's hand shot up
"Question, can we skip this part?"
"No, this is important."
"Okay, then continue." She waved a hand and smiled. I continued.
"I was stuck for 3 hours before someone came in and got me out."
"Why?" Asked Hannah.
"Well, I wasn't actually stuck, they were too busy. So I was born with a cone head." Hannah chuckled.
"Like the movie?"
"I guess, I mean I don't really remember and there aren't any pictures so..."
"Fair enough."
"Anyway, a few weeks after I was born I got pneumonia and RSV because my mother was, well.... Moving from house to house sleeping around to get drugs and so I was put back into the hospital. The only person who actually stayed long enough to achieve anything was my grandma." I noticed the corners of Hannah's mouth raise slightly.
"She was, one of the most amazing women I know. We didn't have alot but if you showed up at her door hungry or cold shed feed you and keep you warm for a while." I starting playing with the tips of my fingers.
"You said was. How come?" Hannah put a comforting hand on my shoulder while leaning down so we were facing each other.
"She uhh... She died when I was five."
"Wait, did you know your dad then."
"No, not really, I mean we knew about each other and had visits but there wasn't any real relationship between us, he tried, but we just couldn't connect."
"Okay, you don't have to do this if you're not ready. I can wait."
"No, you were right, if we're going to do this, we need to be completely honest with each other, "I sighed.
"So. Because of the way my mother was behaving, she had another kid two years later. My baby brother.
