(Brads POV)
I told Alice that I had some stuff to take care of. I don't know why I don't just tell her whats going on, she's not stupid I know that she going to eventually put the pieces together. I'll tell her when I get back, I'm too pissed off right now. I was walking down town, noises of people yelling and cheering were attracting my attention. Down a near by alleyway there was a group gathered in a circle. I'm not sure why but i decided to check it out. Maybe it was the fact that the last thing I wanted to do today was try and make a deal about Joey with Mark.
I approached the group and shoved my way up to the front, it wasn't very hard considering I was bigger than most if the people in the crowd. I got to the front, there where two guys fighting one about the same heights as me and the other guy was a fucking tank. "Hey who's fighting?" I yelled to the guy beside me.
"One of ours and some prick from out of town."
Now being with a group of people who are all close minded and from the same town I did something considerably stupid. "I hope the guy from out of town kicks his ass." Some of the cheering stopped and the tank look at me.
"Yeah? You wanna go?"
"Yeah." I took a step forward and hit him under the chin knocking him down. Quickly he got up and tackled me, punching me repeatedly in the same spot on my forehead. I laid there for a minute letting him tier himself out then reached up and took a blind swing. The guy fell off of me.
"Aha! My fucking eye!" I took no sympathy and got on top of him, punching him over and over and over right in the nose tell I was satisfied.
I got up then spat at him, "you punch like a bitch." I don't know what wrong with me. I guess I was kinda on a rage. I'm such a fuck up, these are the reasons my brother hates me.
Even though it was a stupid move to knock that guy on his ass it was smart at the same time. It got some of my anger out so maybe I would be more reasonable to negotiate with. With caution I entered to windowless building. The walls were painted a dull red just like I remembered. I entered a second set of doors identical to the first ones. The big oak desk was still there. Virtually nothing had changed but a white vase was filled with blue roses. Mark sat in his desk chair.
"Welcome Bradley." His glossy teeth shined with a smile.
"It's Brad." I gritted through my teeth.
"Right, right. How have you been young Brad?" He put the stress on my name.
"I'd be a hell lot better if I had my brother home with me."
"Well I'd like to help you with that, that is if you willing to make a deal son." I winced when he called me son I was wanting to make some smart reply but I ignored it not wanting to risk anything.
"Okay, let's negotiate." I took a seat and sat back in the chair.
"Your not willing to kill anyone? Correct?" I nodded. "Alright, how do you feel about doing a deal for me?"
"Like, like a drug deal?"
"Yeah, you would have to go across the border. Also it would be a big load probably around 195kg amphetamine." I let my eyes widen for only a second not wanting him to know that I was intimidated. Immediately I thought of my Bambi, I wanted to say safe so I could protect her but, Joey safety matters too. And he was in much more danger than Alice.
"I'll think about it." Without another word I got up and left. I had this disgusting shaking feeling right in my gut. I needed my Bambs to make me feel better. God I got to stop calling her mine, she doesn't belong to me.
