Heroes of Olympus And The Avengers

Chapter 5

Camp Key is in the Florida Keys. It is a hidden island with a barrier around it. Right now the camp is preparing for war against the Darkness but we'll get to that later (in another book). (If you haven't read my other books so far, spoilers, Mr. Johnson became the new Master of Darkness. The Shadows are souls from the Fields of Punishment that want revenge on Hades for putting them there. There are some of these Water things that want to kill the twins. )

The twins, Clara and Joe, were standing beside a cliff when Nico appeared from the shadows. Scaring them.

"Freeze me." Nico said between breaths. Clara instantly froze him.

Ever sense Clara was a baby, she was cursed with an ice power that made her freeze anything she touched. The curse was meant for Joe as well. It that didn't happen. She now has more control on it. When she gets nervous, jealous, or angry, she creates a tiny snow storm around her head.

Clara unfroze Nico. "What the heck! Why did you do that?" Clara asked.

"Well, it was kind of fun. Except for the ice part though. Plus I had to see how you guys were doing with the upcoming war." Nico replied.

"Not very good. Johnson is attacking us anywhere we go." Joe said.

"Things are just getting harder." Clara looked at Joe and then at Nico. Clara's eyes widened. "There coming."

"Nico you have you get out of here." Joe said.

"I don't think I can shadow travel right now." Nico said.

Joe looked at Clara. "Call them?"

Clara nodded. She held out her and and swiped her other hand over creating a whistle out of ice. She blew it.

Arion and Pegusus appeared. "Nico get on Arion." Joe said.

"What?" Nico asked.

Yeah. What? I'm not carrying this death boy! Arion protested.

"If you let Hazel ride you can let Nico ride you." Clara said.

Pegusus snickered. Joe glared at him.

Fine. But you owe me gold nuggets!

"Fine." Clara said. "Nico get on him."

Nico climbed on Arion. "What about you guys?"

"Joe is going with you." Clara replied. "I'm riding Pegs."

Joe climbed on Arion. Clara climbed on Pegusus.

Someone said, "I smell him. Master will be proud! No more demigods! No more nothing! The end of the world!"

"Arion, go." Joe whispered. Arion ran away. Clara and Pegusus stayed behind.

Clara used her special power from her bracelet. She made Pegusus and herself invisible.

(Everyone at Camp Key has a bracelet that gives them special abilities. Camp Half-Blood has the necklaces, Camp Jupiter has the burned SPQR on their arms and Camp Key has charms on brackets. For example, Joe can freeze time. But not for long. Clara has the ability to turn herself invisible, transform into anything or anyone and can create barriers that can only stand for about 5 minutes.)

Shadows in the shape of people walked out of the woods. "I smell Sea God." Hissed another Shadow.

Pegs go. Clara said through their  thoughts.

Pegusus started to fly. She made Pegs and herself visible. Not like you could see them in the black darkness that surrounded camp.

"There!" Hissed a Shadow.

Clara swiped her hand over Pegasus's side, freezing all the Shadows.

----------About 3 hours later-------

Pegs and Clara flew over  Long Island. She saw a streak below. She smiled. Clara knew it was the boys and Arion. 

Her smile faded when she asked, "Pegs where are we?"

Camp Half-Blood. He said that I had to bring you here. Clara looked at Pegusus. Cover up your tattoo thing.

Clara and Joe had matching trident symbols burned into their skin. It showed who was your godly parent.

Clara pulled down her sleeve. Arion ran into the forest. "Follow them, Pegs."

Sure thing. Make sure no one sees us.

"Okay." Clara held on to Pegasus. Seven seconds later, they were invisible.

Pegasus landed next to Arion. Clara and Pegasus became visible.

Joe and Nico jumped. "Now I know what that feels like!" Nico said.

"So, we're at Camp Half-Blood?" Joe asked.

"Yes." Nico replied. "Don't worry. Percy is at Stark Tower with the rest of the Seven and Reyna."

"Okay, good." The twins said together. Pegasus and Arion left in a flash.

Nico looked at us, "We better get to camp before something attacks."
