Chapter 1
As I processed down the long stairwell case, I replied back to my best friend Andrew. We both were kind of nervous going back to school, this is our last year of school and then we head of our separate ways to college. My mom kept questioning me on what college I want or need to get into, but I don't really want to go to college, I really just want to do singing. I know I wont get a career out of it but it's my favorite thing, I sing at all the talent shows, plays, dramas, anything I can get my hands on.
As I swayed myself into the kitchen to get a bite to eat, my mom was sat at the table reading a paper and eating a slice of toast. 'Good morning mom.' I said setting down my bag and heading towards our kitchen cook, Angela. 'Good morning sweetie.' she mumbled back.
I'm guessing your wondering where my dad is? Well he left me and my mom about 4 years ago, he wanted a divorce, but left mostly everything to me and my mom, he recently married my step mom Lynsdey who has 3 kids, Robert, Lucy, And Zoe. I was a bridesmaid along side my two evil step sisters. Lucy and Zoe had to be the most bitchiest pair of twins I'e ever met.
My mom hasn't been seeing anyone since, but I'm sure a handsome man will swoop into her life and make her heart whole again. I hope one day, she will have that dream.
I made myself a cup of coffee and Angela handed me 2 cinnamon rolls, I thanked her and sat beside my mom. 'Is Andrew picking you up or are you picking him up for once?' My mom said not bothering to look up, she done this every morning. 'He's picking me up.' I bite into my rolls and drink my coffee.
'That boy is the most gentlest man I've ever met. Not once have you picked him up.' she smiled, I giggled.
'I know mom, maybe you should talk to his dad, Sean is really nice, he's also single and he's like Andrew, that's where Andrew gets the charm.' I winked.
The doorbell rang and I walked out, 'I'll think about it.' she replied. I opened the door and there stood my best friend, Andrew. 'Helloooooo.' He said walking into the kitchen to talk to my mom.
'Well good morning to you too Drew.' I said under my breathe as I closed the door. I walked in and Andrew was laughing along with my mom, and Angela. 'Hey Andrew, Isn't your dad single?' I asked picking up my bag.
'Yeah, Why'd you ask?' he smiled at me. 'Um maybe my mom and your dad could go on a date kinda thing, and hook up and possibly get married and your dad could move in, and we'd be even closer so you wouldn't need to be picking me up every morning.' I said looking everywhere avoiding my moms face.
'Okay wow, Madison calm down and I'll ask him.' he said, my chest rose up and down really fast to my rapid quick breathing.
I looked at my mom and she was staring at me. I grabbed Andrew's arm and kinda, okay I might have dragged him out of the kitchen. 'Whats that for?' he whispered.
'Bye mom! See you at 4!' I yelled before pushing Andrew out of the door. I walked fast to Andrews car and got inside the passenger seat. 'My mom gave me them eyes, you know when I say something wrong and shes annoyed at me for it? or when I -'
Andrew stopped me for speaking. 'Okay Madi I get you, can you just shut up already?' He chuckled as we drove to school.
'I'm nervous.' I said out of the blue. 'Why?' Andrew said smiling at me. 'Because, its first day back as seniors and I'm kinda not ready for this year, my mom keeps bombarding me with colleges and I just want to sing.'
Andrew just looked at me like I was on drugs. 'Madi, you can still go to college and take music courses.'
'Wow, you really did look up this college thing, didn't you?' I smiled, he smiled sweetly and kept driving. God help me this is going to be the worst day of my life.
