Chapter 40

Madison's POV

'Honey, are you home?' A young woman maybe in her 40's came out with a young girl on her hip. 'Yeah mom, and I brought a guest for dinner.' he said.

'Daddy!' The young girl smiled as she seen Shawn, he has a daughter?

He took the young girl from his mothers arms and planted a soft his on her head. 'I missed you daddy.' she said pouting.

'I missed you more baby girl. Daddy's here now.' he gave her a cheeky smile.

'Sorry, mom this is Madison, the girl I told you who is working on her career, Madison this is my mom.' He said smiling. 'Oh Hi Madison.' She smiled at me

'Hi, it's so nice to meet you, Mrs. Mendes.' I said smiling at his mom, I extended my arm to shake her hand.  'Oh please, call me Shannon.' She said shaking my hand. 

'Your very pretty.' the little girl said. I chuckled. 'Why thank you.' I did a little ballerina bow and she giggled. 

'Madison, this is my daughter, Lilian.' Shawn said introducing us.

'Hi Lilian, I'm Madison.' I said giving her a small smile. 

'Daddy is she your girlfriend?' She asked Shawn as she chuckled. 'No. She is just daddy's friend.' he playfully tapped her nose.

We never noticed his mom walked back into the kitchen to finish the cooking. 'Lilian go into your play room, I'll be into you in a few minutes okay?' He put her down, she nodded before running off into the big house.

'You never told me you had a daughter.' I said smirking at him. 'That's because nobody knows.' He winked.

'She's adorable, where's her mother?' I asked staring at the lovely decor of his home.

'Long story, I'll fill you in when we go out to my house.' He had so many secrets up his sleeve. 

He showed me to the kitchen were I offered to help his mom with the food. She refused until I managed to finally get her to give in.

His mom was really nice and even taught me how to bake a chocolate velvet cake. She also let Lilian help while Shawn went for a shower to refresh himself.

'So Madison, what school do you go to?' His mom asked.  'I go to St. Bart's, but on Thursday I graduate.'

'Oh how nice, have you picked any clothes for it?'  I shook any head as I decorated the cake in icing.

'Well you can always have a look through my wardrobe, I have a lot of new dresses and other clothes I haven't worn yet, tags still on them if you want to have a look' she smiled at me.

'Thank you, Mrs. Mendes.' I said with a small smile. 'I told you to call me Shannon,Madison. Your making me feel old with Mrs. Mendes.' She said chuckling. 

'Your the only girl Shawn's ever brought back since Lilian came along.' She said smiling. 

'Really? How old is Lilian?'I asked. 'Lilian is only 4.' She said and I nodded placin the cake on the cake stand. 

'She's cute.' I awed at the little girl who was covered in icing.  I giggled.

'Lilly can you go get your dad please.' Lilian nodded at Shannon and skipped off upstairs to get Shawn.

'Your a really nice girl Madison, I like you already.' 

I gave Shannon a genuine smile as we set up the table for dinner. We took the food from the oven and placed it in the dining room. 'Thank you for the help Madison'
