I'm Not Feeling Gala

Hell was...

Eerily beautiful.

It wasn't filled with fire but, rather, ice. Everything outside my window was coated in ice that shimmered and sparkled in the moonlight. Yes, there was a moon. And stars. There was a full night sky, yet it was not a pitch black, but a deep violet. Against it, the moon was a silvery blue. The entire landscape looked like a world inside of a crystal.

I really didn't like it, but what bothered me was that it seemed so familiar. It seemed like I knew this place. But that was impossible.

It had been three days. I had been here three days, and I hated it more and more each hour.

Caelin didn't help matters at all.

That... oh, I didn't have a word for him! He made me want to gauge out his eyeballs before I tore out my own. He was calm, seductive, and cool. He was constantly sarcastic, and...

Evil.

That was the only word I could think of. He was evil, at the purest extent. He found joy in others pain.

Caelin flounced into the room, for all the land of hell a magnificent Poof. He was grinning.

"Gooodmorning, little lamb! Would you like any eggs? Toast?" he said. I knew he was only pretending to be kind, just to mock me.

"Go away." I said simply.

"Hey, now. Manners."

I glared at him.

"Now. I've decided that its time for you to meet my friends. We are going to a gala tonight. A servant will be in later to fit you for a dress. I hope you will behave yourself while we are there."

"What if I say no?" I said rebeliously.

"Then I will drag you by your hair to the gala," he replied.

I almost exploded. I grabbed the book that was on my nightstand anf threw it at him. He cought it in midair.

"Again, behave!" he snarled. Suddenly his wings were spread out behind him, making him look large and menacing. His upper lip curled up in a sneer.

"No more of that," he said dangerously. "If you do that again, there will be consiquences."

He walked out.

The dress fitter was a demon. Yet, she wasnt what I had expected a demon to look like. She didnt have red skin, or a tail. She was rather striking, though.

Her name was Zara. She had light, fair skin and violently blue hair. Her eyes were a bright, cat-green and she had little white horns poking out of her hair. She was actually quite nice, chattering away about the drees she was rapidly creating to fit my body perfectly.

"This style is called a goddess dress," she said expertly. "It has one strap for the arm, and it is a little tight at the chest, but it flows down freely to the floor."

She was right. When I looked in the mirror, I was instantly reminded of my greek mythology class that I had taken in junior year. The dress belonged on Mt. Olympus.

Zara smiled at me. "You look perfect. Wow, youre hair really is white, huh? I blends into the fabric a bit."

I turned around and hugged Zara. "Thank you," I whispered.

Zara shrugged.

**Caelin**

I stood and mingled with the crowd of demons and Dark Angels at the gala. I knew that Deliah was going to step throughthe front door at any second, Zara at her side. I knew Zara would not let her escape. She knew what I had gone through to make sure Deliah was here. Zara knew the truth about her.

There they were. I saw Zara's stunning aperance, then I glanced Deliah.

I almost doubled over in grief.

She wore a dress so fine in its simplicity that it looked like gauze. Her perfect face was artisticly make-upped, and her lips were like rose petals on her delicate mouth. Her snow-white hair cascaded to the floor, looking like a moonlight waterfall.

She and Zara made there way to me, and I whispered fiercely in Zara's ear- "What the hell are you doing? Why is she dressed like that?"

Zara looked at me innocently. "She looks good like that. You've seen her in those dresses before."

"Yes but that was before..." A wave of sad pain flowed through my chest.

**Deliah**

I kept my distance from Caelin for most of the night. I stuck mostly to Zara's side, and I was getting a lot of attention.

"Did you see the goddess in white?"

"She looks rather like,"

"Yes, yes, she must be related to the angel Deliah..."

Somebody said my name. The name of an angel. But it had to be coinsidence. It wasnt a common name, but still.

A young man with wings that were almost dappled gray asked me to dance. I accepted, taking his slender hand. He twirled me around the dance floor at a waltz, and I was having trouble keeping my feet.

The angel dipped me, almost sweeping off my feet.

"I am Keal," he said.

"Deliah," I replied. The angel smiled.

"Well, Deliah, would you like to come with me?" he asked. I nodded.

Keal led me behind the band stage. "Now, my beauriful angel," he said. "How about some fun?"

It was then that I realized something was very wrong.

Keal tried to kiss me.

I kicked him away, but he again came after me. "Now, love," he said. "Just a kiss. Maybe a night, what does it matter?"

I ran. I ran back to the dance floor, trying to find help. I spotted Zara's blue head...

Keal tried to grab my wrist to bring me back behind the stage. I jerked away and shouted "Help!"

And then I saw a blur of movement, and Keal was on the ground. Caelin stood over top of him.

"Let her be," he said venomously.

Keal nodded hastily, then ran off.

Caelin turned to me with enraged black eyes. Zara was behind him, trying to grab his shoulder in an attempt to calm him down.

"Did he hurt you?" Caelin asked. He didnt sound concered, more like worried over property   damage.

I shook my head. He nodded.

I danced with him a couple times. I hated every second of it. He didnt try to make it better for me. he didnt care about me at all.

Soon it was time to go.

**Caelin**

I had on my best dispassionet look as I took Deliah by the shoulder to her room. She was trying, and failing, to fight my grip.

"Why did you take me there?" she demanded.

"To introduce you to my friends," I replied smoothly.

"Well, thanks a lot, I was almost assulted. We should do that again!" her voice was heavy with sarcasm.

I wanted to explode at her then, but I knew better. I turned to step out of the room. But, as I did, involuntary words popped from my lips.

"It was no problem saving you. No need to feel grateful.

I left her alone with a suprised look on her face.
