The call didn't last very long.
When Y/N finally ended the call, the sky outside remained dark. The city below was quiet, its lights still glowing against the early morning darkness.

Jane had mostly talked. Y/N had mostly listened.

And honestly?

She couldn't remember half of the conversation. Not when her mind kept drifting back to the room she'd just left.

To Jungkook.

To the look in his eyes.

To how close they had been.

Way too close.

A frustrated sigh escaped her lips.

The cool air wasn't helping anymore. Neither was the distance.

After ending the call, Y/N stayed on the balcony for another minute, staring out at the city.

Trying to sort out the mess in her head.

Trying and failing.

Eventually, she pushed herself away from the railing and headed back inside.

The dorm was still quiet.

Everyone was still asleep.

Or at least she hoped they were.

Her footsteps softened as she approached the bedroom door.

Then stopped.

Her hand rested on the doorknob.

Suddenly, she felt nervous.

Which was ridiculous.

This was her room too.

Yet somehow opening that door felt harder than walking into a stadium full of people.

Y/N swallowed.

Then slowly pushed the door open.

The room was dim.

Quiet.

And Jungkook was still there.
