Chapter 5 - Dry Land

Media swarmed the building like bees, well not exactly the whole building because the police had taped it all up, but they still swarmed. "There!" someone shouted and all the cameras turned towards us. The little girl huddled against her Mum and I heard a siren.

"Help!" I screamed, "Help! We have sharks down below and we need to get out! Please!" It was at this moment that I needed to cry but surprisingly no tears came and a fire engine ladder extended towards us.

"You're safe now," a man in a fluorescent vest came towards us. One by one, we carefully crawled across the ladder and climbed safely back to the ground. I can remember my feet touching the ground but then darkness and the voice in my head saying 'That was the dumbest thing ever but I'm glad you're alive.'

I woke to my Mum standing above me crying really loud and hugging me to almost death telling me that she was glad for me to be alive, you know, all that stuff, well I guess you don't know but that is what she did. I earned a medal and certificate for my bravery and for once in my life got respected and treated nicely by the kids at school. I guess 'treated nicely' isn't the right words because everyone seemed to want to be my friend all of a sudden so I got respected A LOT.

I also found out that the lady's name was Belle and her daughter was Rue and they had dropped off some very nice smelling flowers, chocolates and a bottle of fizzy drink for me.

Another thought, this time my own occurred to me...'Life had never been so great on Planet Earth.'

The story is over. And it has the weirdest ending ever but.... I only had a small time to write it when I did. And yeah.

So. Yeah. Someone should write a longer version of this story. It would be cool.
