Chapter 34

“I shouldn’t have let her do chores!”

“It’s not your fault mom. I shouldn’t have gone to the game.”

“It’s my fault really; I was the one who asked you to come.”

“Alex and I shouldn’t have let her go alone! It’s our fault!”

Fluttering my eye lids open, I quickly closed them because of the pounding headache in my skull.

“You guys arguing whose fault isn’t really helping this killer headache. And it was my fault, I should have been more careful.” I told them, making them gasp.

“You’re awake! Why aren’t you opening your eyes though? Are you okay?” Kathleen asked, concerned.

“No, I’m fine, it’s just that it’s too bright and my head hurts. Can I have some Tylenol?” I politely asked.  Someone placed two in my out stretched hand and I swallowed them dry.  Opening my eyes, I looked at my surroundings. I was back in my bed, but this time it was the bed in the house.

“How long have I been out for?” I asked, rubbing my eyes. The headache was still there, but thankfully not as bad.

“Only three hours. But Niall and the other guys have been freaking out… you might want to Skype them.” Nathan filled me in.

“Alright… but isn’t it like 12 there?” I asked, confused.

“Close… but no. It’s only 10, they just finished a concert.” Ella filled me in, scrolling through her phone.

“Can someone hand me my laptop?” I asked, pushing myself up. They cleared out of my room to give me a bit of privacy.

Opening Skype, I noticed that Niall’s icon wasn’t green, but Harry’s was. Harry was the next closest friend I was the closest with so we exchanged our usernames a while ago.

It rang twice before Harry’s red face appeared.

“What is wrong with you?!” He screamed at me, making me jerk back in surprise.

“What did I do wrong?” I asked, clearly confused.

“You always go and get yourself hurt! You don’t even understand that it’s not you who gets hurt from this; it’s all of us! Niall is so upset right now, you don’t even understand! He couldn’t concentrate during the concert and we all just got yelled at by our manager! Why do you have to go and do all this dangerous shit?! Do you think it’s fun to get hurt?! Are you asking for a death wish?! Cause you’re hurting Niall so much! It’s not fair!”

I was outraged. “Do you really think that I go around and ASK to be hurt? I just happened to be one of the klutziest girls on the earth; it’s not really my fault, Harry! Niall doesn’t have to worry about me; can I talk to him? And leading a god damn horse in from its field isn’t considered ‘dangerous’. It is called my job. I’m not asking for a death wish, you idiot. I don’t understand why Niall is so upset.”

“He is upset because he cares about you! Jesus Ashley, you’re becoming almost like a burden on all of us.”

Tears brimmed my eyes and soon began to poor over.

“Put him on.” I requested.

“Fine.”

A couple moments later, a red eyed Niall came on the screen. Harry left to give us some privacy.

“Are… Are you alright.” He squeezed out, his voice raspy.

“I’m fine Niall; you don’t need to worry so much…” I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. Sadly, it didn’t work.
