10 Times TVD Broke our hearts

  1. Remember when Elena and Stefan were pretending to be broken up so they could pull one over on Lady Katherine? We all grinned and played along with their little ruse — that is, until things got too real and Elena actually ended things with her beau. We didn't see it coming and us stelena shippers everywhere were basically living a horrible dream and wanted to wake up from it .

2. Jeremy was totally getting his act together. He quit the drugs, the drinking, and the partying and, with the help of Alaric, was well on his way to becoming a pretty decent student. He then meets a pretty girl, Anna, and we're like: "Yesss! Jeremy has met a nice girl....FINALLY." But NOPE. She turns out to be a vampire set on releasing a tomb full of bloodsuckers (mostly because she wanted to save her mom — we can't blame her for that) and setting them free in Mystic Falls. Somewhere along the way, she gave Jer Bear a vial of her blood; and after finding all that his good behavior — not to mention the gnawing emptiness in his heart — was due to compulsion, he tossed that baby back like a shot and tried to kill himself. Luckily he didn't die. Sadly Anna was staked by John Gilbert in the Season 1 finale. Those TVD Writers sure do have a sense of humor, don't they? 

 3. After Aunt Jenna's death we were at our quota for character deaths. We were absolutely sure that everyone else in Mystic Falls were safe but, of course, we were wrong. wreaked havoc on our hearts, and even though we have him back in our midst, we are still not over the fact that we had to lose him in the first place.  

4.  After all this suffering, we foolishly thought TVD would not force us to cope with the loss of any more characters. As it turns out, we were mistaken because they killed off JEREMY in Season 4; and in case this wasn't upsetting enough, poor Elena completely broke down, turned off her humanity ( which sucked cuz non-humanity elena was even bitchier than normal elena ) , and burned down her childhood home as a result( which was totally unnecessary cuz it was a nice house , elena is such a drama queen ) . Thankfully, he came back from the Other Side — but that's when we started to realize the writers truly love to see us sweat through our eyes.  

5. Which brings us to poor Bonnie Bennett.....She died to save Jeremy's life in Season 4, died for her friends in Season 5, and spent most of season 6 alone in a prison world (you know, right after being tortured by a psycho) before managing to escape. There's a thin line between genius and sadism and we think TVD is straddling it.

6. Have you forgotten about the Moonstone drama in season 2? Just because our favorite bros had the moonstone didn't mean we had won; apparently soap dishes aren't the best hiding spots so Lady Katherine found it, took it, gave it to Klaus and then all hell broke loose. We lost Jenna, the Gilbert sibs lost their Aunt, and Alaric lost the new love of his life. Why, TVD? Just why?

7. the stupid sire -bond between elena & damon which runied everything , remember when damon bunched stefan , damon told him bout when he slept with rebekah and how he didn't kill rebekah , and elena screamed something and then stefan was like " why don't u tell her to calm down damon , you've used the sire bond pretty good " or something like that , but then jeremy rips his shirt and steals the moment 

 8. We were over the moon when we got Alaric back in Season 6 — and we were even more excited when he fell for Dr. Jo and they decided (with the help of an unplanned pregnancy) to spend the rest of their lives together. But unfortunately nothing ever goes according to plan in Mystic Falls and happily ever afters don't exist. Not only did Kai kill his entire family — including Jo and her unborn twins — but he also pushed Ric to the point where he tried to end his life. It was a heartbreaking, desperate decision made by a man who had lost all hope and seeing Ric in such a state of anguish tore our hearts asunder  

  9. We're loyal fans and we love our TVD writers. But if there is one thing we never thought we'd have to deal with and that would be the death of our beloved Salvatore brothers. Stefan's heart was ripped out in Season 5 and Damon was stuck on The Other Side in Season 6 leaving our hearts crushed, bleeding on the floor hoping that this wasn't the end for our boys. It wasn't, of course, and we were able to enjoy Damon's snark and Stefan's hero hair once again but boy was that a close one. TVD, we're watching you! 

 10. Last but not least, let's not forget about them killing off the last parent left in Mystic Falls: Sheriff Forbes. After causing Caroline to suffer every awful circumstance you could possibly imagine, the writers gave her mom cancer and had her die in a hospital bed before she could give her daughter one last hug. Then, right when we thought nothing could ever top the pain of watching a little Caroline ride away on a bicycle in her mom's mind, she shuts off her humanity and rips up the last letter her beloved mother ever wrote her. ENOUGH!
