Chapter 2 - Hotel Room Confusion

I was still a little wary of going to a hotel with Ross and Riker, but I decided to go with it. I didn't see any reason not to trust them, they seemed really nice. But I didn't want to get in a taxi with them, in case they took me somewhere else... Maybe I would just meet them at the hotel. 

"Hey you guys, is it okay if I meet you at the hotel?" I asked, "I think I have enough money to get a taxi." I took out my wallet. $7 left. Nevermind. 

"I heard them laugh. "Come on, just come with us!" said Ross, and they pulled me outside with my stuff. I saw them walk towards a big white van, and gesture for me to follow. I thought, 

"A suspicious white van? It may as well have 'Free candy' written on the outside! What do I do now??"  Maybe I shouldn't have told them my name and everything about me without knowing them..

Before we got there, a girl who seemed to be about 20 and two guys in their late teens jump out of the van and envelope Ross is a hug. 

"Why did it take you so long to find him, Riker??" The girl asked. "Aww did you guys get lost?" She said with a laugh. 

"Well, actually we found someone. Everyone, this is Jenna!" Said Ross with a smile. I felt everyone staring at me and i tried to smile too, but I was still a little shaky because of the breakup. 

"H-hi everyone, I'm Jenna. I...I um.." My eyes started watering a little bit again and I felt like a little girl lost in a store. I didn't know what to say to these people to make them like me, I didn't even know why they let me come with them. They must have just felt bad for me. 

I saw Riker whisper something to the others, and theire faces turned sympathetic.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" One of them said. They all crowded around me to hug me, and I started laughing through my tears because it was an awkward hug. But it felt nice, we really didn't do group hugs at my house. We all got into the van, and everyone introduced themselves.

The girl's name was Rydel, and the other two guy's names were Rocky and Ellington, but everyone kept calling him Ratliff. Maybe it was some kind of nickname?

They all seemed really nice, but I stayed quiet in the back of the van. I was sitting on the side, next to Riker. He tried to talk to me a couple of times, but when I answered half-heartedly he just stopped trying. We got to the hotel, which was called Hollywood Hotel. It was really fancy! We went to the front desk in the lobby to check in, and they had a lot of instruments and guitars and stuff with them. I guess all of them were in the band together. I heard one of them ask for another room for me, but I didn't hear the answer. There was a long conversation, but I wasn't really pay attention. They all walked back over to me, where I was watching the bags. 

"So... there aren't any room left at the hotel." Ross said awkwardly. "There's some kind of conference or convention here, so the rooms are all booked solid. I would say that you could sleep in Rydel's room, but some of her friends are staying here tonight too so it'll be crowded. I was going to be in a room with Riker and Ratliff was going to stay with Rocky, but I guess all four of us can stay in that room and you can have my room."

"Oh, thank you so much. I'm sorry, I'm being such a trouble-"

They all convinced me that it was totally fine, so we went to our rooms. We got there and went into our rooms to freshen up and change. I decided to just change and take a shower later. I went into the hallway, to see everyone talking there in low voices. 

"What's wrong?" I asked when I got closer.

"Oh.. It's just that my friend just called me and surprised me, he told me he's coming here to see us perform tonight. But he doesn't have anywhere to stay the night, so I don't know what's going to happen. I can't fit five people in one room.."

"Ohh... well, someone can stay in my room." I said. "There's only one bed but it's pretty big.. I could just sleep on the floor or someth-"

"No!" They said. "I'll stay in your room, and I'll sleep on the floor." Said Ross. 

"I don't want a guest to sleep on the floor!" said Riker. 

I nodded, and went back into my room to organize my bags and things. Everyone else went into Riker's room, to talk about the band I guess. Then Rydel's friends arrived, and the girls went into Rydel's room to get ready for the concert. They pulled me in there too, and started doing each other's makeup. They also did mine for me, and Rydel picked out an outfit for me. It was a cute ruffled tank top with some shorts, and sandals. They straightened my hair too, and when we were all ready we went to help with all the instruments. I couldn't wait for the concert!! It was actually at a park across the street, so we didn't have to go far. They set up everything and lots of people showed up, especially teen girls. I got a seat in the front, and was surrounded by girls. The show was about to start!
