My phone had been going off all night with people following me on Instagram. It was annoying but it finally stopped soon after I got up from bed. Throughout the whole day only a few people followed me so I wasn't too bothered about that. As it was the weekend and I didn't have anything planned, I spent the evening in the bath and watching films. I know right, so much excitement for a Saturday night.
Anyway, I was in the middle of watching a video of Halsey performing 'Control' on YouTube when I posted a photo of her on my Instagram. The caption was something casual like 'Holy shit balls can anyone be any more perfect? HALSEY YOU ARE LEGIT AN ANGEL OR SOMETHING' you know, nothing really out there. After about half an hour later I received a message on Instagram. Without even looking I could guess who it was as he was probably the only one who even messaged me on there.
Luke_is_a_penguin: You know I know Halsey right?
Shit
Me: Damn, that would have been a better line than whatever you pulled last night.
Luke_is_a_penguin: Yeah but then you wouldn't want to talk to me, you'd just want me to get her to notice you.
Me: I don't want to talk to you anyway Luke
Luke_is_a_penguin: Ouch
Me: well if you weren't such an ass when you first messaged me I would maybe want to talk to you a little more
Luke_is_a_penguin: If you say so babe. If it means anything, I'm sorry for being 'annoying and conceited' as you said
Me: If you say so
Luke_is_a_penguin: You know most girls would be dying if I messaged them right now, what's your deal?
Me: Like I said last night, im not like other girls. And my deal is that you're just a normal guy that makes decent music with some of his best friend. What's there to die about?
Luke_is_a_penguin: I see you looked us up then;-)
Me: Good bye Luke.

I honestly don't understand why loads of people swoon over this gigantic blonde bread stick. I'm not going to lie, I preferred the bassist. I kept thinking about what he said though. What if he could actually get Halsey to notice me. Wow, that would be the best thing ever. But I wasn't about to use him to get that, that's horrible and not really who I am.
I decided to just ignore Luke. I knew he was going to try and play some sort of game with me, I mean why else would he talk to me? I needed to forget about that loser so I called over my favourite loser, Lauren. She arrived literally as soon as the phone call was over which is why I love her dearly.
"Wassup biatch" she hollered, entering the house.
"Hey hey!!!" I called to her, running downstairs to meet her.
We exchanged hugs and small talk before getting into the really deep stuff...and by that I mean snacks and teenage gossip. It wasn't long before she brought turned the channel over, playing the top hits or something like that. I wasn't really interested in the music though as I was listening to her gossiping about how the populars have found a new target to bully, some small kid who looks asian but isn't (A/N and no I don't mean Calum).
After talking for an hour or so with the music playing in the background, Lauren suddenly jumped up, screaming words at me which I didn't really understand until I glanced up at the tv.
"WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU, YOU HOLD ME TIGHT" she was literally jumping on the table top, singing her little heart out whilst throwing down some pretty impressive dance moves. Note my sarcasm. I waited until she was done acting like a child before I pulled her down onto the couch again. She looked disappointed with me, but I knew she wouldn't be for long.
"So, you know Luke?"
"Duh, everyone does. I still don't know how were best friends, what teenage girl doesn't like 5sos?" she laughed at me, nudging my shoulder.
"Well, Mr. Popular randomly followed me on Instagram the other day-"
"WHAT THE HELL? YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE THEM WHY DID HE FOLLOW YOU? YOU KNOW I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET THEM TO FOLLOW ME FOR YEARS. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE" She shouted, of course she was joking but the inner fan girl was taking over her body major.
"I didn't even tell you the worst part" I stated, earning a confused and eager glance from her.
"Here" I passed her my phone, open on the messages between Luke and myself. She was silent for about 0.3 seconds before screaming. Again.
"YOU TURNED DOWN LUKE. HE CALLED YOU BEAUTIFUL. WHO THE HELL IS HALSEY. WHY DON'T YOU LIKE LUKE. HOLY CRAP IM SO EXCITED YOU HAVE TO MESSAGE HIM RIGHT NOW! GET HIM TO FOLLOW ME PLEASE"
"I will if you calm down, deal?"
That immediately shut her up. She sat on the couch next to me, or should I say literally on top of me, watching me as I typed to luke.
Me: Hey Luke
"You know he might not even reply to-"
Buzz buzz
Luke_is_a_penguin: Nice to finally hear back from you, I see your plan of ignoring me didn't work out
Me: Apparently not
Luke_is_a_penguin: What can I say, I'm irresistible.
Meanwhile, Lauren was freaking out next to me,
"Ask him!" she stated. I nodded before typing back to Luke.
Me: Luke, will you be angry if I ask you for a favour?
Luke_is_a_penguin: Um, depends what it is...
"I don't want him to think I'm telling everyone about him talking to me, that might make him hate me. What should I say?"
After thinking hard for a minute, she came up with the idea to tell Luke it was her birthday tomorrow and this would be a good surprise for her.
Luke_is_a_penguin: You still there babe?
Me: Yeah sorry, it's just that its my best friend's birthday tomorrow and I was wondering if you could maybe follow her or message her or something. I mean she's in love with you...I understand you probably get asked this loads but it would mean a lot to me to see her happy
Luke_is_a_penguin: Anything for you. What's her username?

Luke_is_a_penguin: I actually have to get on a plane now, but as I'm doing you a favour, will you do me one?
