After convincing Luke that walking to his friends house would take too long he finally agreed to get into the car with me. I made it clear that, as I was driving, I wouldn't be able to hold his hand this time. He frowned whilst buckling into his seat but quickly changed into a smirk as he placed his hand on my thigh.

I guess this was the next best thing.

He kept it there for the whole journey and every now and then he squeezed my thigh gently, reminding himself that I was still there. It only took about half an hour to get there due to the traffic so we had a lot of time to talk to each other...not that we did. Luke laughed as we pulled into his house and pointed to the window.

Inside, he could see Ashton and Calum both dancing around whilst Michael filmed. He missed his friends, I could tell. It had only been a day but he really did miss them. He jumped out of the car and made his way inside the house. I followed cautiously behind as I am still certain that the boys don't like me.

"Hey there buddy!" Ash shouted to Luke as we entered the living room. They all engulfed Luke in a group hug. It was so sweet.

I was just taking in the cuteness in front of me when Calum pulled me into the group hug too...

"You're part of our little family too Sar"

I legit just think my heart melted

I guess I was wrong about them, maybe they did like me after all.

We all sat in the living room, playing games and talking to each other. I admit, it was one of the nicest days I have had in a while. I completely forgot about every little problem I had because for once I was actually surrounded with people who knew what it was like to have problems. They understood everything; they understood me.

I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket but I ignored it. I had no reason to be on it because the only person I cared about was in the same room as me, so everyone else could wait.

Being surrounded with his friends was actually doing Luke a lot of good. He was joining in on their conversations fully, and I noticed how he was now talking in longer sentences. Yeah, it took him a while to get them out but it was better than nothing, right?

Anyway, we had been there for a few hours and I was starting to get hungry. The boys were all involved in a very important game of FIFA and I didn't want to disturb them, so I walked over to Luke and whispered that I was going to leave in his ear.

"Okay, will you be okay driving on your own?" He asked, whilst still focusing on the game

"Of course I will" I laughed, he turned around and laughed too

"Just text me when you get home so I know you are safe. Also, thank you for everything you've done for me. I owe you big time" He forced out.

"Its fine, honestly"

He turned around one last time and placed a gentle, yet passionate, kiss on my lips. We had never done anything like this in front of the boys (that they had seen) so when the noticed us, they were a little shocked.

I pulled away and waved good bye to him, leaving him with three confused boys who would, no doubt in my mind, be forcing questions on him right about now.

I reached home much sooner than I had imagined and went straight into the kitchen to make some dinner. By dinner I mean toast because in all honesty, I could burn water.

I was in the middle of eating my dinner and watching a film when I remembered my phone buzzing. I was scared when I saw the message as I unlocked my phone...

'From Mum-

Jack told us you weren't there when he was there to pick you up. We will be having words. See you tomorrow'

Great.

I honestly was scared. I mean, if they put me in hospital due to me skipping class I cant imagine what they would do after I disobeyed them again. I didn't want to find out but there was no escaping them. They would know where I was before I even knew where I was...they're that powerful.

I didn't want to over think things because that would cause me to have a panic attack so I decided I would have an early night. The lack of sleep from the night before was also playing a part of my early night too.

Falling asleep was surprisingly easy. I fell asleep almost straight away which didn't bother me one bit.

The next morning I was woken up by someone shaking my shoulders. I opened my eyes slowly to see my mum's face inches away from mine.

"Get downstairs now" I nodded and began trying to find pair of sweats to put on. I walked downstairs to find both my parents waiting for me in the dining room.

"You skipped class again?"

"Yes, but I can explain...my friend was in a car crash and had some head injuries, he needed my help so I-"

"Why don't you stop lying for once in your life! You don't have friends Sarah, you tell us all the time"

I stood in disbelief as my parents made me out to be a liar. I didn't bother replying to them because I knew what would happen if I did. I just turned and walked away.

That's all I could remember.

I woke up in my bed with a sore face. I walked over to my mirror and saw what they had done.

Lets put it this way, my face was now three times the size and almost completely covered in bruises. I stood, staring at my face for at least five minutes. I couldn't even cry because it hurt way too much. My phone ringing brought me out of the trance I was in and I carefully answered it and held it to my ear.

"Sarah! I'm taking you bowling today!" Luke chimed.

I don't want him to see me like this

"No Luke, I don't want too"

"What? Why not, what's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong. I just don't want to go. I'll see you another time".

I hung up on him and couldn't help but feel bad. I knew this would hurt Luke because he was already confused enough about me liking him, so this definitely would not help.

I need him to focus on getting better.
