[ Nicole ]
I resist the urge to chuck my phone at Michael's head when he tells me to put up the cigarette, but I do what he says and shove it in my pocket before glancing up at him expectantly.
"What?"
I roll my eyes. "You said I should meet Jen?"
"Oh, yeah!" He laughs and waves for me to follow him. We walk through the gym and make a right, through the double doors, and then into a small building five feet away from the school.
"Michael, why aren't you in the gym?" A girl with slightly big framed glasses, dirty blonde hair that was pulled up into a bun, and was on the chunky side as well as tall, damn these tall people, called to him.
Michael rolls his eyes at her. "Jen, this is Nicole."
Jen flicks her gaze over to me and breaks into a smile. "Hey, how are you?"
She needs to calm down, there's nothing to be so damn happy about. "I'm alright."
"Nicole, this is Jen, Ashton's girlfriend." Michael says with a smirk.
"I am not his girlfriend, for gods sake." Jen grumbles, glaring at him momentarily.
"Well then, who is?" Michael retorts.
"Not me." I hear her mumble under her breath.
Michael laughs loudly. "He's totally into you, dude," he shakes his head.
"No, he's not. And if he is, he needs to grow up." Jen mutters.
"Who's Ashton?" I ask, stopping their debate.
"Ashton is one of my best friends," Michael glares at Jen playfully before looking back at me, "and Jashton is cute as hell, I'll admit."
"That's an unfortunate ship name," Jen smiles.
"What's a ship?" I question them.
They both look at me like I've grown two heads. After five minutes of teasing one another and confusing the hell out of me, I was taught what it meant to ship people together.
"So, Jen and Luke's ship name is Juke," Michael smirks.
Jen rolls her eyes and smacks him on the chest with the back of her hand. "Luke and Mikey's is Muke."
"I'm not gay!" Michael huffs.
"Yeah, sure, that's why I walked in on you and Luke having a snuggle session last weekend." Jen says smugly.
"So, do you all live together?" I ask the two.
Jen snorts before laughing while Michael gives her a fake disgusted look. "Not even, I live in my own apartment by myself outside the loop." (A/N: Highway loop. Living inside the loop is expensive living outside the loop is cheap) Jen informs me.
"I couldn't bare to live with that freak," Michael shudders jokingly.
Jen pouts and crosses her arms over her chest. "Fine, be that way."
Michael laughs whilst shaking his head. "No, but seriously, Calum, Luke, Ashton and myself have an apartment together. Sometimes we stay, sometimes we visit family or in everyone but myself's case, their girlfriend's." Michael smirks at Jen as she just silently shakes her head.
"Who's- oh never mind, if he's important I'll meet him." I mumble to myself.
Michael smiles at me before turning to Jen, who was just silently observing us. Jen nods at whatever he whispered to her and she walks over to me before pulling out her phone.
"We should swap numbers," she smiles.
"Uh, sure," I mutter and we give one another our numbers.
She smiles at me before turning off her device and stuffing it into the back pocket of her skinny jeans.
"Wait, Jen, what was your case?" Michael raises an eyebrow.
Her cheeks redden as she stares wide eyed at him. "Nothing..."
"Was it Dan?" He yells, running towards her.
"No!" She screams back and sprints away.
"You have a strange obsession with Dan Howell! It's not normal!" Michael yells.
"It's not strange!" She laughs loudly.
"Who's Dan Howell?" I ask.
Jen's eyes widen as she stares blankly at me.
"You just made a mistake." Michael laughs.
"I'm going to give you a PowerPoint, a five hundred word essay, and a collage of the amazing person that is Daniel Howell." Jen says seriously.
Michael shakes his head at her. "You're fùcking weird, Jen." He chuckles.
She flips him off and waves to me sweetly before Michael guides me outside to get Jacob. When I get Jacob, he was in a much better mood than yesterday, which made me relieved.
Michael: you know what another ship name is?
Me: what?
Michael: micole :))
