The following morning, Harry awoke to find Draco spooning him closely. It made him want to cry. He knew that was fatigue.

He slipped out of bed and used the en suite facilities before switching on the shower.

'Can I join you?' Draco had padded through.

Harry nodded, but when he didn't respond sexually, Draco frowned. 'What's wrong?'

'I'm just not in the mood.'

'Is it something I've done?'

'No. It's me. I'm just tired.'

Draco carefully poured some shampoo into his hand and began soaping Harry's unruly hair. 'Are you going to be okay today?'

'You mean, am I going to slip up because I'm grumpily tired? No. I just didn't realise how tired I am of all the bullshit surrounding us. The expectations on my shoulders are still so apparent. Right and wrong choice of partner, job prospects, monetary earnings, even owning my cars, everything has to be justified.' He shut his eyes as Draco massaged his scalp.

'Were you serious about running away from London?'

'Completely.'

'Where would you live?' Draco began to rinse Harry's hair of shampoo.

'I suppose it depends on...' Harry didn't finish.

'On what? On whether you take the Ministry job or go and work for Minerva...'

'Do you think I should stay at the Ministry?'

'Not in the slightest. I know you're not happy there, but it's not up to me. It's not like I have an actual right to help you make decisions about your life.'

'I wish you did,' Harry said quietly, that dull ache persisting in his chest was mirrored by the beat of the shower over them both.

'Harry?' Draco stopped and cupped Harry's face, forcing him to look at Draco, albeit without his glasses on.

'I wish you did have a claim on what I do; I wish this were real,' he blurted out.

Draco's eyes widened.

'I know, I know,' he sighed. 'Sorry, I'm crossing a boundary. It's just that Scotland is so far away, and Kingsley is pushing for me to step up. I understand. He wants someone he can trust, but it's like Silvia said. The expectation is that I will one day sit in Kingsley's seat. I don't want to be Minister. I don't want the weight of the Magical World on my shoulders again. I never have.'

'Scotland isn't so far. A Floo or apparition...'

Harry mimicked Hermione, 'Haven't you read a History of Hogwarts? You can't apparate in or out of Hogwarts.'

Draco raised an eyebrow. 'Hmm. Why haven't we talked about any of this before?'

Harry shrugged. 'You know why. I suppose we ought to get ready and find out who's at breakfast. Thank you for washing my hair; it was blissful.'

'Harry...'

But Harry was already stepping out of the shower and grabbing a towel.

It seemed that Marcus Greengrass was determined that the morning should be spent playing with cars. He led a party around to his impressive multi-vehicle garage, and an inspection began. Harry ended up taking several people out in his Aston Martin, including Arthur, who insisted on three trips, mostly because it was on the second trip that Harry showed him the car radio system. Arthur was so excited that Harry actually worried for his sanity.

It wasn't long before Lucius was coerced into sitting in the low car. He was his usual dismissive and sneering self. Harry had a feeling that things were about to get a whole lot worse.
