"To all Math Quiz Bee contestants Level 6, please proceed to Room #5 with your coaches within 15 minutes. Thank you," sabi ng announcer.

Ano kayang nakuha ni Elle? Btw, siya ang contestant namin sa Science.
"Amethyst," napatingin ako sa kanan ko dahil tinawag niya ako "let's go," she said at tumayo.
Napatayo na din ako, mahirap nang maiwan.

Nilabas ko ulit yung mga questionnaires from easy to difficult. Baka kasi makalimutan ko.
"Are you still reviewing?," she suddenly asked "wag masyado. Dapat relax ka lang. Ibalik mo na yan sa bag mo," she said. Soft but demanding.

"It's okay, I know and I can feel that you'll win this thing. Leo ka diba? Sabi sa horoscope mo, maswerte ka ngayon. Basta pagbutihin mo at walang halong kalokohan, you can get what you're aiming for. At kampante naman din ako na mananalo ka dahil ilang weeks na tayong naghanda para dito. And I am happy na naki-cooperate ka sakin," she said with a beaming smile.
I smiled back at her.
Siyempre naman! Today is my special day.
At ang gift ko para sa sarili ko ay ang trophy na yun.
I suddenly realized, may sinabi pala si ma'am tungkol sa horoscope. And I suddenly asked, "naniniwala po kayo sa horoscope?"
"No," she said. No naman pala eh! "but sometimes I still get curious about those things. Minsan nga, nafi-feel ko nalang na naniniwala pala ako. ganyan naman tayong mga Pinoy eh, sometimes you don't believe pero hindi mo alam na napapaniwala kana pala."
"Today is your special day right?" she continued and I nodded "Ngayong araw na ito ang pinakamalas na araw, as the oldies would say. But I want to give you these," she said at inabot sakin ang isang rectangular box.
Pano ba namang hindi magiging malas DAW ngayon, eh ika trese ng Biyernes!
Bigla naman ulit siyang nagsalita,"Before you open it, get the lateral area and its volume first,"
Napa-ehh naman ako. Ano ba yan! hindi pa nag-start ang contest may problem na agad!

And I opened it. Isang silver necklace at yung pendant eh 1 at 3.
"Hala ma'am! nag-abala pa kayo! Nilibre niyo nalang sana ako ng frappe sa starbucks o kaya donut ng J.co o Krispy Kreme."I said
Hindi naman sa ayaw ko o nag-iinarte lang ako. Pero kasi, hindi ito yung klaseng binibili sa mga Muslim sa Quiapo o yung nabibili na plastic sa mga variety store.
"Bakit ayaw mo?" she asked.
Ngumiti nalang ako ng parang nahihiya. Pero nahihiya naman talaga ako no! And she commanded me na lumapit sa kanya. So I did.
"Give me that necklace."
I gave it to her at ang akala ko eh babawiin na nya but she asked me to turn around. Ehh?? ginawa ko nalang.
"Oh yan, bagay mo! Happy 13th Birthday!,"she greeted cheerfully.
I thanked her and we started walking at linalagpasan na namin ang mga ibang rooms.
Room No. 4 na, malapit na ang Ro-
"Yes! haha!!! I won!!!"
Nagulat naman ako sa sumigaw.
Isang room nalang at nasa Room 5 na kami.
I stopped at lumingon sa kung sino mang sumigaw.
Ulul nun! nakakagulat kaya siya.
"And St. Catherine School is the winner for Damath Level 6, again. 2nd place for Wilma Institute ," sabi ng in-charge coach.
What??? 2nd lang kami!?
Yeah, yeah. I know that we should be thankful instead of nothing but it means that we lost????.
Bigla namang sumama pakiramdam ko. Sebio is really good but he lost over that cool, handsome, awesome guy from St. Cath-
Wait! What am I saying? He's our enemy!
"Amused by him?,"tanong ni coach. Napahinto din pala siya.
"No", I denied "Who is he anyway?"tanong ko sakanya.
"Anthony James Rodrigo".
Nagulat kami ng nagsalita si cute boy sa harap namin. "Remember that." he smiled and left.
Huh?
Nag-uumapaw na self confidence?
Definitely, mayabang.
Why should I remember his name anyway?? Tss.. He's kinda Cute tho.
"Come on, coach. Let's go." I said at dumiretso. Para naman hindi na kami tumunganga dito.

"We have a tie!" they announced. "From St. Joseph Academy and from William Institute. Please come in front for the tie breaking. Get ready for the clincher round."
Pumwesto na ako at umayos ng upo. I searched around para makita si coach gamit ang mata.
And there she is, nag-thumbs up siya sakin and i smiled. Sinilip ko yung kalaban ko.
Singkit, maputi, cute at medyo mahaba ang buhok. He's a boy.
"Contestants, get ready"
Yan na! eto na! I'll get that trophy!
Sinilip ko ulit yung kalaban ko.
Eto naman tong isang to, creepy. He's looking at me but nang napansin niyang tumingin ako, he smiled.
Wag kang fake kuya! Kalaban mo ako! Alam ko yung feeling na pinapatay mo yung opponent sa isip mo!
