THIRTY-EIGHT - One
Everything was set. They talked a little more about their next courses of action. Hashida informed that Sayoko might have to undergo some interviews, to which the girl agrees to. They chat a little before Hashida and Kise are to meet with their bosses on how to deal with this matter.
Once the meeting started, Sayoko was left alone at Kise's dressing room, looking around and keeping herself busy. Although that she felt confident with the two's statements during the meeting, she couldn't help but sit still.
After an hour or so, the door to the blond model's dressing room opened, revealing the two who just came from the meeting. Kise came in first, running to her before sweeping Sayoko out of her feet and then bringing her to a hug, literally. He was followed by his manager, who is completely amused by the sight.
"So?" Sayoko asked, looking at Hashida while she was still on Kise's arms.
He doesn't reply. He lets Kise talk first. "I'm really happy that you decided on this," he said, his voice muffled. "What made you decide on it?"
"Momoi-chan talked some sense to me," she replied. "You better thank her."
"Thank you so much, Momocchi!" he screamed.
After Kise had finally calmed down, they settled down and discussed what they have talked about at the meeting.
"A few days from now, there will be a press junket, so to speak," Hashida started to explain. "The company will be inviting interviewers from TV stations, magazines, and podcasts. An interview from one company will have thirty minutes to ask as many questions as they wish. Kise-kun is required to be in all interviews. But Sayoko-chan, we might need you to be in a number of them."
Hashida then turns to Sayoko, the raven-haired girl giving him a nod. "Sure, I don't mind," she replied. "In fact, I could be in every single one of them."
Kise is shocked by how active she is about this matter. He still keeps quiet and lets his manager talk first. "Actually, as much as possible, we don't want you in any of the interviews," he stated. He then turns to his client. "Kise-kun insisted on this."
The girl then turns to his boyfriend, patiently waiting for an answer. "Being a celebrity means that everything that I do is being monitored," he started to explain. "It strips you off from privacy and having a sense of security. And I don't want you to feel about that just because you're with me. So I plan not to tell much. I'll tell them that my relationship with you is private and that they shouldn't be messing with you. I even bargained the company to give you extra protection."
"Kise..." It was his name that she is only able to say at the moment.
---
It was another week at school. And Sayoko did not like it. Just six days ago did she find about articles going around about her and Kise's relationship. Of course, not everyone likes the idea of that.
Kise's fangirls did not like some girl being entirely clingy to their idol. They didn't like the attention that she was getting from him. Seeing her with him makes them nauseous. But they especially hated that he might be in a relationship with her. They wanted to tell her off – to tell her that she doesn't deserve him. But, they can't; they're not allowed to.
Yet, they try so hard to make her feel bad without doing anything directly at her. For example, they needed to be in groups to create a research in class. They plotted against her so that she would not have any teammate. It ultimately failed, as she was still able to complete the task as an individual just as good, or even better, than a group with five people. Another one would be to humiliate her in gym class, because they knew that she wasn't athletically-inclined. But at the last minute, she was called by Momoi for official Student Council business as she was about to take a practicum test.
