ELEVEN – Restless
“All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” Kise shone up another smile and pushed another fist in the air when he saw Sayoko nod. He was given the activity to translate Japanese proverbs into English and vice versa. For every correct answer, Kise would ask her a simple question of his choosing, but it would only take around 1 minute to answer, without much explanation. As for Sayoko, she was having an uncomfortable time as she answers his questions.
“Okay, now what is your question?” Sayoko asks half-heartedly, resting her back on the sofa. She watched as Kise shone a big smile, trying to think of a question he could let her answer.
Sayoko fidgeted, mentally freaking out on what Kise might question next. She still wasn’t used to the fact of being questioned about her personal life, but ever since they started their study session over three hours ago, he was able to ask her complete life before she transferred to Tokyo for school. And heck, that was 13 years of her life.
She is so embarrassed to the fact that every time she relays another story, she would bow down her head and speak in a low voice. She tried to make sure that it was quick. She numbs herself whenever she does so.
But every single time, she would always try to catch a glance of the blond-haired teen. And every single time, she would He props his hands at his chin, and look at her as she narrates. He would let out a small smile whenever a happy memory comes along, and his brows would furrow together. His eyes would reflect his emotions, as his own response.
It was the first time anyone has showed affection to her that way.
“Hmm… have you had a boyfriend? Or someone you like?” Kise questioned, smiling as he asked. Sayoko instantly blushed, shocked with the question.
“Where do you get your questions Kise, seriously…” the raven-haired instructor asked, taking a sip from her hot chocolate. “No, I have never been in a relationship and neither do I have plans for it.”
“Why not?” Kise asked once more, shutting his mouth afterwards.
“Answer the next two questions if you want to get that answer,” Sayoko interrupted, and Kise slowly nods to get the picture. Sayoko was rather strict with that kind of routine, which is why Kise would always double-think his questions to either make them specific and to make sure she elaborates further. If he doesn’t, he has to answer another question correctly to do so. These are one of those times.
“Okay, now translate this into English…” Sayoko bluntly stated, turning the pages of the book she was holding.

Sayoko took in a deep breath as she stared at the sight that was infront of her. She was sitting by the stairs overlooking the fields. Since there were no sports practices for these past few days, there were no students playing. She was there waiting for Kise to bring back her lunch as they ate together.
She blinked twice as she looked up the sky. She didn’t want to join him for lunch today. She was somewhat sick of his face and that she had other things to do herself while eating lunch. But since the blond airhead insisted to do so, and that she had the responsibility of watching over him, she had no choice. Well, at least she was getting free food out of him.
“Hey Sayokocchi, I’m back!” she heard Kise’s energetic voice by her shoulder. She waited for him to sit down and give her the lunch that he promised. As soon as he sat down, he immediately grabbed the sandwich from the plastic bag and started chomping on it.
