I woke up to a peaceful, silent house. It was quite relaxing until I realized that my house is never silent.
I cautiously looked over at my alarm clock. The bright red letters showed 8:06 am as the current time. I quickly got up and made my bed very messily. I multi-tasked as I got ready, alternating between getting my clothes on, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair and applying minimal makeup.
I ran over to June's room and noticed she was sleeping very peacefully.
"I don't have time for this..." I mumbled. Knowing my friend she was going to take forever. I grabbed her bed sheets and pulled them all down, pulling her with them. She fell with a loud thud.
"NO! Not the butterflies!" She yelled, clutching her bed sheets. She rolled around on the floor, wiggling herself into a sitting position and running a hand through her messy bed-hair.
"What are you talking about?" I questioned my idiotic friend, softly raising an eyebrow at her.
"Those deceiving bitches... They told me it was going to be soft landing..." She groaned and rested her head on her bed frame.
I was going to question her further but her clock showed 8:20.
"School. Me. You. Late. Hurry" I pointed at my school bag, me, her, her clock and then her closet; Just to emphasize my point furthermore.
"Relax babe. We have an off day today, remember?"
She giggled and grabbed her phone, the blue sparkles in her phone case giving the room a disco-ish look."Do you think that if I remembered I would be like this?" I sat down next to her and hit her in the face with her pillow.
"You should go and get changed. Take a long shower. Here." She got up and took a purple ball from a square box. She handed it to me.
"It's a bath-bomb, stop ogling it. You have your healing rocks I have my relaxing... erm... balls. Oh, gods that came out worse than I meant it too." She laughed.
I exited her room and allowed myself to relax. Nothing like a good rush in the morning. After picking out a few casual clothes, I closed the bathroom door and filled the bathtub. I planned on taking her advice to the fullest and taking some me time. It's been a while.
I stripped out of my school clothes and allowed the warm water to consume me; The bath bomb did smell really nice and gave the water a sparkling, violet look. I guess this is how June keeps her skin so soft all the time.

After my spa experience, I sat down and flicked through the channels. Abraham Lincoln vampire slayer was on. I got myself comfortable and turned the volume up. The movie may be a little over the top at times but it is very entertaining to see the failures of it.
As I got into the movie, a very happy June blocked my view. I groaned and threw my head back. Whenever she looks this happy, nothing good comes out of it.
"Why are you in such good mood?" I grabbed the remote and started recording the movie.
"We are going shopping!" She squealed.
Last time June kidnapped me for a shopping trip, we didn't sit down for 7 hours and I had to carry up to 4 bags. On each arm. Honestly, it was worse than battling 2 vampires at the same time.
"Don't tell me your parents sent your money already? It's been less than a week since last time!"
"The best part is, they sent me more! They said that their princess deserves the best outfits and school equipment. They meant to send it last week but forgot to include the extra for school! Oh, I miss them." She smiled sadly.
June's parents own a really big company so they have to travel around a lot. Because they wanted June to have a 'fairly normal' life (a.k.a not being a spoiled brat) they left her with my dad. The know about vampires (hell, on their wedding day, everyone was glad that June's mom was wearing shorts underneath her dress) and their decision was also made because June was blessed by Athena at a very young age. They wanted her to train her powers. Besides, she was always there for me, even when my mom passed away they would've felt bad taking her away from me; They send her money every month for her shopping and keep in touch. They're nice people, I love them like family.
"Do I have to?" I begged. She only nodded.
I walked back to a room and packed all the necessary things in my bag. I knocked on my dad's door and I heard a sort of grunt. Assuming I could get in I opened the door. Guess who's still sleeping? I kissed his forehead and whispered, "I'm going shopping." He laughed and I flipped him the bird. Thank Gods it was dark.

"Since when do you listen to rock?" I questioned her, as we exited some retro music shop.
"Hardcore Goth punk is my fifth favourite type of music." She responded. I wanted to ask what the first 4 were but some things should remain unanswered.
"Oh, pizza place!" She grabbed my hand and ran towards PizzaHut.
"Can you get me the Hawaiian pizza? I gonna find us a place to sit." She nodded and dumped her bags on me.
With a bit of struggle, I made my way towards an empty table. Her bags took up 2 of the chairs alone.
After 17 minutes she still hadn't come back. How long does it take for her to pick a damn pizza? The line was almost non-existent when we got there, what could have possibly happened?
She finally arrived and didn't bring food with her.
"Where's my food?" I questioned, very sadly.
"The guy said he'd bring the food over. We just gotta wait." She looked through her CDs and hummed some of the songs quietly, all I did was raise my eyebrow.
The pizza guy walked towards us and I smiled, already thinking about the tasty food. As soon as he reached our table he turned.
"Betrayal!" I fake cried. I out of my hands on my head and pretended to be devastated. Hunger can make anyone desperate.

"Can we please go home now?" I whined, tired of re-visiting the same stores and watching June model different types of what honestly looked like the same clothes.
"Aww c'mon just a few more shops..." She gave me puppy eyes but I stood my ground.
"No way! I want to go home and rest!" I shook my head. "Look my dad's probably super worried about us."
"That's why you have a phone! Call him, tell him you're fine!" She waved her hands around a bit.
"No way! This is my final decision, let's go home!" I say yet again. She drops her head in shame. "Seriously June, I love you to death, but this is getting excessive," I add after, with a softer tone.
"Let's hail a taxi..." She begins to walk towards the place where taxis usually are and I let out a 'thank the gods' under my breath.
/// /// ///
We got out of the taxi, which had stopped just a few streets away from our house. June ended up ripping one of her paper bags getting out of the taxi so now our task of making it home became 10 times more difficult.
We were finally walking home when a scream echoed all around us. We both glanced at each other quickly and I dropped the bags I was holding and ran towards the sound, which lead me to a small alley.
I got out my knife from my boot and my wooden stake from my backpack and approached the scene, where a young girl was being fought by a man.
I quickly made a dash for it but stopped seeing as the guy was a vampire and I should probably approach this from another angle, but I saw after was what really made me stop.
