My alarm blared through my room, as it does every day

My alarm blared through my room, as it does every day. The only difference between today and yesterday is that yesterday there were only 3 ears to hear it but today there were four.

My dad didn't leave me much room for arguing against her stay, his main point being 'we'll talk tomorrow'. It wasn't the answer I wanted, but I figured that that was the best I could get given the circumstances.

It was finally Friday and even though we had Thursday off the week still felt long and the weekend sounded very desirable.

I approached my wardrobe cautiously and picked a black top, ripped skinny jeans and boots. To top off my simple look I added a Star Wars bracelet and a leather jacket. Summer was finally leaving and the colder weather was coming, finally. I love the cold weather much more than the hot weather. It's far more comfortable.

After applying some simple makeup and doing my hair I walked down the stairs, seeing June already at the table eating a cereal bowl whilst doing something on her computer. She was wearing a Disney tank top and a stylish black poncho on top and as for the bottom part, she was wearing simple black leggings and black vans with flowers on them. She added a few Disney related accessories to top off the look and had her hair down.

Ellie was sitting down on the table as well, sitting next to my dad looking extremely uncomfortable. She kept shifting from place to place in her chair and her eyes scanned every corner of the room several times. She looked scared like a defenceless animal moving towards the shadows in the hope of not being seen by the dangerous predator.

I sat down on the kitchen counter and grabbed the cereal bowl that my father had prepared for me and begun eating. The tension could be cut with a knife, it was thick like fog and everyone at the table could feel it like it was really there, submerging us in an awkward aura. My dad finally decided to break the silence, shattering it like thin glass.

"Ellie agreed to give us all the information she has when you two return from school." My dad said looking straight at me.

"Sounds swell." I say sarcastically, shoving cereal into my mouth, my knuckles turning white from how tightly I was grabbing the spoon.

"I'm going to the bathroom." Ellie got up abruptly and made her away to the bathroom, leaving me, my dad and June staring at each other.

"What is wrong with you?" June asks in a whisper to avoid Ellie listening to our conversation.

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you! You bring in a complete stranger! And that complete stranger just so happens to be a vampire!" I whisper-yell back, making exaggerated movements with my dad.

"She's a kid! She isn't part of a clan or anything she just needs a place to stay!"

"So? How do we know she isn't lying? This could be very well a new trick by one of the stupid clans!"
