The alarm blared loudly through my room, waking me up and June as well. She banged on the wall that separated our rooms, signalling to me that she had, in fact, been woken up by my alarm. At least we woke up to the sound of John Cena's theme song, rather than whatever boy band song June had as her alarm.
The John Cena theme song was a joke between me and my dad. He always told me that when he was younger he was stronger than John Cena. So I made that my ringtone and alarm tone.
I looked around my wardrobe for some clothes to wear for the day and curled my hair and heard June in the other room doing the same. Well, I heard her throw stuff around so I assumed she was having her daily clothe-related crisis.
I walked downstairs, thinking about a way of not having to go to school. I enjoy school and all but I haven't trained in forever and I really need to work on my throwing. I have a weak left arm.
So at breakfast, I plotted my plan. Not an 'evil take over the world' plan but an 'I'm getting out of this school' plan.
So I started, "Dad. There's something I need to ask..."
"No." He answered quickly.
"Dad, I haven't even started." I countered.
"You're gonna ask if you can skip school today." he shoved a mouthful of cereals in his mouth, not even glancing at me as he analysed some papers.
"Damn. You're good." June replied with amazement.
"I know my daughter." He shrugged
I frowned my eyebrows "How do you know that was what I was going to ask?"
They both eyed me and I lowered my head in shame.

I opened my history textbook, sparring a glance at June, who was flirting with some student. The shy guy from the gym yesterday sat on the table in front of me, next to a red-headed girl whose name I believe is Elle or Ella. That's what I heard her friend call her anyways.
His overall dark complexity really contrasted with her overall light complexity, however, they both appeared to be quite shy.
I kept analyzing the people in my class, profiling them in my mind instead of listening to the boring lesson that was being taught to me.
By the time break rolled around, I had already started writing my opinions on the students in my notebook. However, it seems I'll have to have June teach me whatever we did today because I completely zoned out.
I packed my stuff back in my bag and walked out of class, smiling at Akiro and grabbing June by the hand.
"We've been invited to a bar, tomorrow at nine." She says, smiling at the little note in her hand.
"We? I'm sure the guy has no interest in me." I laughed
"Yes but I need you! What if he ditches me? What if I don't like him and have to pretend to be a lesbian and you to be my girlfriend?"
I sighed "Alright can I bring someone along?"
"Is it that shy dude from the gym?" She 'discretely' pointed at the guy.
"Yeah. He's different. Quite hard to read too. It'll help to build a profile." I explained.
"Sure profile." She laughed. "Why are you interested in that guy anyway? He sounds, well, boring, to be honest." She said truthfully to which made me wonder, why was I so interested. After a few seconds of mental analysis, I came to a conclusion.
"It's different you know? He's so secretive and quiet, it just makes me want to know more!" I replied with a light chuckle.
"Well, I have the cheer-leading trials to get to." She squeezed my arm and shook her head, with a smile still present on her face.
"I thought you weren't into action?" I pointed out.
"They need someone to create a routine and if there's something I'm good at is strategising. You can even say I'm blessed." I raised an eyebrow at her pun
"Well you go do whatever you do and I'm gonna go ask the guy out. See you." I gave her a quick hug and we parted ways.
I made my way to the gym, knowing that Akiro was there. I scanned my card and entered, seeing him sitting in the corner of the gym with his backpack sitting next to him.
"Hey."I waved at him and sat down next to him, letting my bag slide next to his.
"Hi." He didn't look at me, he continued to stare at the dirty white gym walls.
"I was invited to go to a bar at nine tomorrow and I don't wanna go alone. Wanna to join me?" I bluntly asked.
"That's one way to ask someone out." He mumbled under his breath, finally taking a moment to look back at me.
He has deep hazel eyes and some light freckles across his nose. But yet his entire face was still a mystery and the more I looked the more interesting curves and edges I fount, and yet I found nothing at the same time.
"I tend to be straight to the point." I laughed.
"No. Sorry." He looked back down, ignoring me, and I frowned.
"It'll be fun I promise." I say, writing the details on a piece of paper.
He rubbed his arms. "I'm not into that sort of stuff..."
"Oh... Well, here's the information if you change your mind, I'll just go over there and read." I handed him the paper and sat down on the beach, grabbing my Mythology book and opening it on the last page I remembered reading. "Now, let's enjoy the silence shall we?"
He looked at me and sighed, taking out a notebook and his phone, shoving his headphones into his ears and promptly ignoring me.
Authors Note !
I love my old not-so-subtle foreshowding between this chapter and the next.
Re-reading your own work is like watching an old TV show you tought was genious and realizing that it wasns't in fact genious level.
