The Story of Jake

"Louis? Louis, are you there?" Niall asked in a panic voice into the phone.

Louis grumbled as he looked at the clock, 2:16am,"Yes, I'm here. What do you want at two in the morning."

"Louis...,"Niall started,"Jake is having a break down. I don't know what to do. You're the only one who's ever calmed him before other than...him." Niall whispered the last word as if it were a secret. As if it were something that if heard, can cause a storm.

Louis was wide awake already,"I'll be right there."

When he got there, Jake was not okay. He was on his bed, his baby boy on his arms as he slowly sobbed,"He's not going to get you, Carson. He's not going to get you. Daddy's here."

"Jake. Jake, look at me." Louis said trying to calm down the man infront of him.

Jake slowly looked up and let out a sob,"Nico was there." He let it,"Nico was there and he was hitting me and he tried to take Carson."

"Nico is gone, Jake. He can't hurt you and he can't hurt Carson. You're safe here."

Jake sniffled and slowly, his breathe returned to normal. Only a few sniffles in between,"He made me feel so useless, Lou. I thought he loved me, and that he would love Carson, and that he'll realize what he was doing was wrong. Then he would turn back into the Nico I knew before."

Louis sighed as he pulled Jake to his chest and ran his fingers through his hair,"I know, sweetheart. I wish you didn't have to go through that. I know that you were hurt, but there will be someone who will love you for being you."

Jake snorted and pulled away,"Right. Cause someone out there is dying to be with a lowlife, ex-prostitute, single father, who is scarred from an abusive ex-boyfriend."

"You are an amazing person, Jake. Any guy would be lucky to have you." Louis said.

"Thank you, Lou." Jake said, sighing as he kissed his sons forehead,"You always know exactly what to say."

Louis smiled,"That's why I'm your best friend"

And with that, everything was ok. Jake is hurting, but he knows he has the support of his best friend.

Who spent the rest of the night (or midnight) scolding him about how his health.

"You need to eat. You need to stay alive. I will not let you starve yourself to the point in which Carson has to live without both of his parents, do you understand?
