Jehari sniffed up another line of coke before taking two shots of Hennessey to the head.
She fixed her hair and bikini as getting up she stood to her feet.
"Chocolate, you on."
She stumbled her way on to the stage and seductively danced to the music.
"I can make you feel good!" A man yelled out to her.
She was so out of it that she didn't realize that a man had pulled her from the stage.
"I can make you famous baby."
Jehari giggled and let the man lead her to his car.
"I l-like being f-famoussss!" She slurred as he laid her in the backseat.
"Yeah baby."
As the man tried to remove Jehari's clothing, she heard a voice. Her mother's voice.
Jehari, what have you done? This isn't my baby. Go home to Romeo. Let him help you baby. It's not too late.
Jehari pushed the man off of her, instantly sobering up. She punched him and ran.
Her destination? Home.
When she finally made it, she banged on the door.
Romeo opened it and she fell into his arms.

I took Jehari into our bathroom and undressed us. Turning on the shower, I pulled her in and washed her body and hair.
Once she was clean, I pulled her into my chest as she sobbed.
"I'm so sorry Romeo! I'm so sorry!"
"It's alright baby. It's okay. You're home now." I consoled her.
She cried some more and then we got out of the shower. After drying our bodies, I dressed her in a pair of her underwear and one of my tee shirts.
I put on some Calvin Klein boxers and basketball shorts before laying next to her.
"I'm sorry."
"I know."
"Am I still your girl?"
I looked into her eyes before responding.
"No. Not until you get clean."
"I understand. Do you still love me?"
"Til the death of me."
I pulled her closer and she snuggled into my chest. I had to go eight months without seeing her, and it killed me. My mind said to let go, but my heart said to hold on. My heart won.
I fell asleep holding my baby in my arms, thanking God for bringing her back.

I woke up, not being able to sleep. My body craved for the cocaine, but I didn't want it.
Instead, I went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. As I drunk some, I saw the knives tempting me.
I put the cap back on my bottle and slowly put out a knife. I sat on the floor and began to cut myself.
"What are you doing?"
I looked up at Romeo who stood above me. I looked away from him, knowing that he was upset with me.
"I'm lost, I'm insecure, and you don't want me anymore."
"You have no reason to be insecure, and we all get lost. And who said I didn't want you anymore?"
I kept silent as Romeo got closer to me.
"You are the definition of pretty. I'm yours. I love you Jehari."
I looked up to see tears in his eyes. He bit his bottom lip to hold them back.
Just like in my dream.
Looking down at my arm, I saw the word 'PRETTY' freshly carved into it.
Just like in my dream.
Instead of speaking, I just sat there. Romeo left the kitchen and returned with a first aid kit.
He cleaned my arm and wrapped it.
"Please don't harm yourself again baby. I'm gonna get you help, I promise. I'm not giving up on you."
He kissed me and picked me up. He carried me to our bedroom and laid me down.
"You are so pretty baby. I love you. God brought us together for a reason. We meant to be together." He kissed my forehead.
"I'm not giving up on us."
Romeo held me tight and not once did he release me.
