Im Nayeon is the kind of doctor who believes every patient deserves compassion. She doesn't judge people by their appearance. She doesn't judge them by their past. She doesn't judge them by the mistakes they've made. To her, every patient is simply someone who needs help. Even when they refuse to speak. Even when they refuse treatment. Even when they make everyone else uncomfortable. That's why she doesn't give up on the mysterious patient in Room 307. He barely speaks. He never smiles. He doesn't talk about his family. He doesn't receive visitors. He doesn't ask for anything and yet, something about him makes Nayeon uncomfortable. There is something strange about his silence. Something unsettling about the way his eyes follow her whenever she walks into the room. Still, Nayeon continues treating him like any other patient. She talks to him. She checks his injuries. She brings him coffee when she notices he hasn't eaten properly. She makes small jokes during his check-ups. Sometimes, she simply sits beside his bed when he refuses to speak. To Nayeon, these things mean nothing more than kindness. She is simply doing her job. She doesn't know that her patient remembers everything. Every word. Every smile. Every cup of coffee. Every time she enters Room 307. Every time she leaves. Every little detail and she certainly doesn't know that the man lying quietly in that hospital bed is slowly becoming obsessed with her.
Min Yoongi isn't an ordinary patient. He's a criminal who escaped from police custody. After being injured during his escape, he secretly enters a hospital using a false identity. Nobody knows his real name. Nobody knows his history. Nobody knows what crimes he committed and nobody suspects that the quiet man in Room 307 is the same criminal being searched for across the city. At first, Suga doesn't care about Nayeon. She is simply his doctor. Someone who changes his bandages. Someone who checks his condition. Someone who asks him questions he doesn't want to answer. He barely responds to her. He doesn't smile when she tries to make him laugh. He doesn't react when she tries to get him to open up but Nayeon doesn't stop and slowly something changes. Suga begins recognizing her footsteps before she enters the room. He notices when she's tired. He knows when she skips lunch. He remembers what coffee she drinks. He knows when her shift begins. He knows when she leaves. He notices which colleagues make her uncomfortable. He notices who makes her smile. He notices everything and while Nayeon believes she is helping a lonely and emotionally damaged patient Suga is learning her. Not as a doctor. Not as a stranger but as someone he has decided belongs in his life.
Room 307 was supposed to be just another hospital room. Until Min Yoongi entered it. A mysterious patient. A false identity. A hidden criminal past and a doctor who unknowingly became the only person capable of making him feel something. Nayeon believes she can reach the man hiding behind his cold expression. She believes kindness can change him. She believes Yoongi is simply a broken man who needs someone to care about him but she is wrong because Suga isn't broken. He's dangerous and when Nayeon eventually discovers his true identity, she secretly contacts the police during her night shift. She thinks she can report him without him knowing. She carefully takes her phone. She quietly explains where he is. She tells the police about Room 307. She thinks she's almost finished. Then the call suddenly becomes silent. Nayeon slowly turns around. Suga is standing behind her. His hospital clothes are stained. His expression is completely calm. He looks at the phone in her hand. Then at her.
