My eyes flutter open. Someone's arms are wrapped loosely around my shoulders and breathing softly downy neck. It takes me a second to remember where I am.
Blake's Dorm. Why though? Then I remember last night. I frown. I'm still baffled by the fact that Peyton got my car keys separate from my key ring without me noticing. I gently slide out of Blake's arms and stand. I stretch, yawn, and grab my phone off the top of his dresser to check the time.
12:07 pm. I grab my phone and open messages. I tap Blake and text that I'll be back soon. I pull on my sweatshirt and converse and open his door, quietly, so I don't wake him. I walk down the hallway and out the main doors across the grassy lawn. Sitting down on a bench, I dial Peyton's number. Ring ring, ring ring. It goes to voicemail almost immediately. I frown and hangup. I call again.
Ring ring, ring ring. Voicemail. Again. I'll just check our dorm. I rise from the bench to walk back to the dorm.
I pause. Maybe, Peyton wants to be alone. That would explain why she didn't want to come to karaoke night, and also why she left. Yeah. I put my phone in my sweatshirt pocket and decide to get back to Blake. I open the doors and fast walk to his dorm. I left it unlocked because I knew I would only be a few minutes. I push open his door and lock it behind me. I slip of my shoes and set my phone back down on his dresser. Blake is laying awake in his back. Staring at the ceiling.
"Where'd you go?" He asks, shifting his gaze to me. "I was going to check on Peyton," I start. "But I figured that she wanted to be alone." I say. Blake nods an then closes his eyes. In just a few seconds, his breathing slows and he starts to snore lightly. I roll my eyes. Almost the second he falls asleep, I hear someone outside fiddling with the lock. Blake's eyes open again and he sits up. The door swings open and in walks Aidan. "I have to go now," I say, grabbing my phone and putting it back in my pocket. Blake opens his mouth and I squeeze his shoulder. Aidan looks at me. I just stare ahead as I walk out.
"Bye."
