Theo POV
I couldn't stay in the office.
The map was spread across my desk, the red markings bleeding into one another until I couldn't tell where one territory ended and another began.
Three covens.
Gone.
One left.
June stood across from me, watching while I pushed myself out of the chair.
My legs immediately trembled.
He didn't move.
"You're going outside?"
"Yes."
"Okay."
I blinked at him.
That was it?
No argument?
No grabbing me?
No telling me I was too weak?
June simply leaned against the edge of my desk.
"You'll probably die."
"Thanks."
"I've been trying to tell you that for months."
I rolled my eyes.
Another surge hit me.
My entire body tightened.
I gripped the desk until it passed.
The hormones were becoming impossible to ignore.
My blockers were gone.
Iven had detoxed them from my body.
She'd ripped away the chemical wall I'd spent years depending on to keep my Omega instincts quiet.
Now there was nothing between me and everything my body had apparently been trying to tell me.
Fear.
Need.
Anger.
The desperate pull toward my Alpha.
All of it was becoming louder.
I hated it.
I hated that some part of me wanted to run toward her even after seeing what she'd done.
June watched me steady myself.
"You done?"
I nodded.
He shrugged.
"Then go."
I stared at him for another second.
"You're not coming?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because I'm tired."
I almost laughed.
Of course he was.
Everyone was tired.
I pushed away from the desk.
"I might need help."
"You'll have to yell."
"You're an asshole."
"I've been called worse."
I headed for the door.
Every step felt heavier than the last.
But I kept walking.
