Theo POV

June tossed me onto my office chair like a rag doll.

Any brilliant thought or idea I could have come up with was knocked right out of me, along with all the air in my chest.

For a moment, all I could do was hyperventilate in front of him.

June looked unimpressed, his arms folded across his chest, pulling at the corners of his worn suit.

My head began shaking slowly as another hormonal surge rolled through me.

I needed to get a grip.

He didn't care about living anymore than Kent did.

Somehow, everyone here was broken.

Maybe by me.

Or possibly by my crazy Alpha mate.

Three out of four witch covens were either dead or severely injured.

And my mate was standing outside in the middle of it.

I swallowed hard.

"The fourth."

June's eyes narrowed.

"What?"

"The fourth coven."

My voice sounded foreign to my own ears.

"If three are gone, the fourth knows what's coming."

June didn't answer.

I pushed myself straighter in the chair.

The movement sent another strange wave through my body.

My stomach tightened.

My skin prickled.

My heart started beating harder.

There it was again.

That horrible, foreign pull beneath my skin.

Omega hormones.

I clenched my fists against the armrests.

Iven had never made me feel this way before.

Not like this.

Whatever had been done to me while I was unconscious had changed something fundamental inside me. My emotions were louder. My instincts were sharper. Every reaction came with something physical attached to it.

I hated it.

I hated feeling so fucking helpless.

"What are you thinking?" June finally asked.

I looked toward the map spread across my desk.

"The fourth coven isn't here."

"No."

"They're overseas."

"Yes."

"So we don't need to destroy them."

June's expression shifted.

Barely.

But I caught it.

"They'll come for us."

"Then we give them a reason not to."

He stared at me.

I grabbed the map and pulled it closer.

"We negotiate."

June let out a quiet breath.
