Dare#49: Smooches and swirlies

Blanc sat down leisurely on the couch, immersed in a book she was reading.

Opposite her sat Vert, quietly sipping a cup of hot tea.

Blanc flipped a page, the rustle of the paper being the only audible sound that broke the silence in the room.

Vert: Hm..it's been quite a long time since here's been lively.

Vert shifts her view from her own reflection of her tea towards Blanc,  her face still buried inside her book. She lets the silence stretch on before giving a noncommital hum.

Blanc: If by 'lively' you mean chaotic, then yes, it has. Personally, I prefer it this way.

Vert: oh come on now, Blanc, surely a little company wouldn't hurt. Even a quiet room can feel too vast when it's just the two of us.

Blanc turned the page with a deliberate, crisp snap.

Blanc: It's only vast if you don't know how to fill it. Thankfully, I have a small library of books right here.

Vert: fair enough.

She sips her tea.

The doors burst open from behind them, revealing a cheerful Neptune.

Neptune: Hey Blanc! Hi Vert!

Blanc's eyebrows twitch in annoyance, knowing her time of peace and quiet was probably going to be over. Her face still hidden behind her book as she lowered it slightly to peek at Neptune.

Vert turns her head, smiling.

Vert: Oh hello Neptune.

Blanc: What do you want Neptune? I'm trying to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Neptune: Oh don't be like that Blanc, I just wanted to hang out, besides, you two weren't in the previous chapter.

Blanc: I was enjoying the lack of screen time. At least I don't have to get dragged into your shenanigans.

Neptune puffs her cheeks.

Vert chuckles lightly before setting her teacup down on the saucer.

Blanc narrows her eyes at Neptune, then shifts her sight to the request box placed atop a small table closeby. She lays her book on her lap.

Blanc: We finally have a new dare request, I assume?

Neptune: Ding ding ding! You guessed it Blanny.

Blanc Sighs, crossing her arms.

Blanc: Don't call me that. I knew the moment you showed up with that ridiculously excited look on your face there had to be something going on.Well?, don't just stand there staring at it. Open the damn thing so we can get this over with.

Neptune: Fine fine.

Neptune hops over to the table, her energetic bouncing contrasting sharply with Blanc's calm, slightly irritated demeanor. She snatches the envelope from the request box and dramatically waves it in the air like a game show host.

Vert shot a curious look.

Vert: What does it say?

Neptune: I've been dared to kiss Noire!

Vert: Oh my.

A hand flew to Vert's lips, but it did little to hide her growing amusement as she pictured Noire's dramatic reaction.
