"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." - Ecclesiastes 3:1

I stole a glimpse behind to see the portal disappear too.

And we were speeding off a wide hallway of light.

Would’ve been enjoyable if we weren’t speeding off to where we were headed now.

                My doom.

Chapter 10 - Harsh Fluctuation

All the thought seemed to obscure my mind from what I was sitting inside.

                A batman car.

                No joke.

It was low with sleek black paint with those bat things and knick knacks.

He even had a mini batman martini bar inside.

                Fanatic….

“So, tell me more about yourself, Isla. I know absolutely nothing about you.”

“Nothing?” my eyebrow raised in sync.

“Beside the fact that we met last year and whatever Niall is now is your doing, nothing. So tell me more about yourself.” His eyes darted me and the road, which was merely a void of black anyway. But we were traveling in an obnoxiously high speed; literally we were traveling at the speed of light.

“There really is nothing to tell.”

“Aw, come on. How about your interests?” he questioned.

I was not the chitty chatty type. But I wasn’t antisocial or picky in who I converse with or anything. I just wasn’t keenly fond of exchanging polite small talk with Slayers, werewolves, fairies, mortals, leprechauns, Asians, Americans, Australians, Africans, Europeans (did I miss a continent?), Antartic Abominables (yes they do exist), warlocks, people from the 7th and 10th realm, the taxi guy, the burger guy, the- you get me?

“Blood, vengeance, silence in car rides with strangers maybe.” I stared out of the window, hoping that would cut him short.

                Not.

“That’s very…interesting, Isla. How about your family?” His hands were firmly gripping the wheel.

                “It’s…pretty complicated.”

                “Status?”

“Hungry.” I wasn’t telling him one word about my status. It was even more complicated than my family. Which was saying a lot. And I was hungry.

He chuckled but then continued yet again. “I meant relationship status, not your kidney’s status!”

“You don’t digest food in your kidney, genius.”

Please be quiet. I needed time to think about-

                “How about you and Ha-”
