This guy had serious issues. Harry’s Charm on everyone else had worn off, or they shook it off. But the Noob? He’s like some hippie giving random hobos flowers saying make peace not war and whatever and now he’s sleeping? There was evidently something wrong with him.

“Well,” Liam said after a pause with an air of finality, “I guess he’s in. This quest is a go.”

There was a frankly pretty intense yet awkward long pause.

Then right before the glass of awkwardness overflowed, Liam saved the day with saying something about us nearing Tawora and finally we could get out of this black void filled with a lot of revelation and nun chucks.

And out of the black a wall of watery light appeared in front of us.

Chapter 14 – The Great Archive

"Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold." - Proverbs 8:10 (NIV)

                “Woah.”

They all were too consumed in awe to say anything more intelligible. But, I couldn’t blame them. For first timers, the towering structure before us, which shone and twinkled in buttery light and covered partially the sparsely star-populated always-night sky of Tawora, did after all deserve a ‘woah’. But not for me. It was probably my hundredth plus time here, no exaggeration intended.

The buzzing town was obscured by the gigantic building, where nightlife brought out the rebellious side of creatures. The Fair Folk very rarely frequent Tawora; it contained so much darkness it scared them. Vampires, warlocks, and witches dominated the town’s population, so it was sometimes referred to as “The Wicked Realm” because well, it was populated by people of the night. The nocturne was never ending – literally there was no sun in this world. No moon, either, actually. The big twinkling stars that glittered the stretching navy firmament, although meagre in quantity, were very close, and they provided the little illumination necessary for this clubbing wasteland. So if you were a partier, then Tawora would be the realm to be.

The 4 – yes 4. We dragged the Noob to a nearby bar filled with retired fat werewolves to eat some dinner or to get even higher. The world would never know. – sober boys stood like statues in front of the building that radiated wisdom, life, sorrow, antiquity, and – obviously – magic after Liam parked the car not far away from the ground they were standing on now and made it invisible to the eye.

I didn’t get it though. We parked behind the building. So technically they were wow-ing at the building’s a-s-s. And yes, this old sexy building was alive in a sense that it was a living tree made library? Enchanted by the warlock so that it would not move and would not wither or even grow old. He carved his life and the life of the realms inside of this tree, so somehow locals called it the Tree Of Life. Or Death, because there were a lot of deaths and wars recorded in the ancient scrolls hidden within the soul of this palace.

I needed a game plan. No we did not think of any yet in the car on the way here because they were all still trying to process how they could have missed that their super close buddie buddie was actually Charmed. Which I inferred that he Charmed them into not realizing but hey, I wasn’t going to judge people for using their powers for selfishness. Didn’t say I didn’t though…And I was still stunned by the fact that Norris was in fact a leprechaun and it just made everything more complicated.
