"What do you mean, 'did something to you'?"
"I don't know, Dad, I've been getting visions that are slightly different from reality, as if they are like warnings of what will come, and then my job is to go in and fix that. Like earlier, at the police station... I - I was in your house suddenly, and I heard a gunshot in the basement, so I ran down and you were... dead on t - the floor, and I couldn't save you! I couldn't!!" Shawn broke down again, sobbing into his father's arms. But he let go when there was a noise from the basement. His dad slowly made his way to the below ground level, but Shawn stopped him. "No way, pops. I am not letting you die again." And then he ran alone onto the basement, where a man in all black was standing.
"Hello Shawn. I've been waiting for you."
"Sylar," Shawn said, disgust rolling off of his tongue. I only have to distract him long enough until Jules and Lassie get here. "The psychic killer." Breathe. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but I'm not who you think I am." Not much longer.
"I think you are every bit as remarkable as they say you are. And with powers too! Yeah, telekinesis and psychic visions? I think that sounds like the Shawn I know."
How the hell does he know that?! "Well, in that case, you got me. I divined earlier that you would not kill me, and we would go out for ice cream where the police would make their arrest."
"We both know that's not quite true," Sylar smirked.
"Fine. You got me again. So, let's just get this over with. But leave my dad alone."
"Deal," Sylar agreed. "Now move." He pressed the gun to Shawn's back. Shawn didn't budge.

"Hey, Carlton, do you think Shawn's okay?" Juliet turned to her partner, who eyes were on the road.
"I'm sure he's fine."
"He just sounded really scared. I hope he's okay," she said worriedly. "It's probably nothing though. I'll ask him tonight."
"You know, I still don't know what you see in him. I mean, it's like dating a tall five year old with extended vocabulary, but barely even that!"
"Carlton! Just give him a break, okay? He was just struck by lightning three days ago," Jules pointed out. "I'm going to call him."
**********
Shawn didn't move even with the gun pressed up against his back because he was rather curious to see if his newfound abilities would prevent death. Probably not. Which is why he was almost saved by the sound of his phone playing Jules' ringtone, Rump Shaker. "Oh, is that your girl? I'll let you take it," Sylar said, not moving the gun.
"Thanks, man." He pulled out his phone. "Hey, Jules!" He strained his voice, hoping she would buy the fake cheeriness for now.
"Shawn, are you okay?" Juliet asked.
"Fine! Why - why would you even ask that?"
"Because I'm worried about you. And you're sure?"
"Well, we have an 11-4 situation here." The gun cocked against his back.
"Oh my god, I'm on my way. Where are you? Shawn? Shawn?! SHAWN!!"
Sylar held the phone in his hand, Shawn on the floor unconscious. He uncocked his pistol and put the phone to his ear. "Hello, Juliet. Your boyfriend is quite the troublemaker."
"Who is this? What have you done with Shawn?"
"Oh don't worry. He's fine," Sylar looked at Shawn's limp form and smirked, "for now..."
**********
"Lassiter! We need Shawn's location ASAP!"
"Tracing it now! His dad's! Go, go, go!" Lassiter screamed at the cluster of officers that had gathered to see what was going on.
"Do you think...?"
"Oh it is most definitely Sylar and we are going to get him!"
"Hurry, please Carlton," Juliet pleaded, already in tears at the thought of Shawn being hurt or... dead.
**********
Sylar presses the gun to Shawn's heart after flipping his body over. "I'll wait for your lady to get here for my grand finale." He smirked at the psychic.
**********
Shawn was awake, looking down at his own body. Is this another vision?? His thoughts were interrupted by Henry running down the stairs. Sylar turned the gun at Henry and shot at him. Henry's body fell to the floor, gun still smoking. This is the same as before. How did I miss my body? "Dad, don't worry, I'll keep you safe."
**********
Shawn slowly came to, nearly jumping out of his skin when he saw Sylar smirking at him. Sylar raised the gun to knock him out once more, but this time Shawn was ready. He thought of Sylar being flung to the side, and it happened. "Listen, Sylar. Kill me all you want, but leave my dad alone!"
Sylar let out a grunt which slowly formed into a laugh. "Oh Shawn, it's much too late for that." Shawn grabbed the gun and looked at Sylar, compressing him with his new abilities. He smacked the gun against Sylar's temple as hard as possible. Once he released the compression, Sylar's body crumpled to the ground.
