•Aailyah's Pov•

"Shawn?"

"Go away Aaliyah."

"No."

I don't care what he tells me. I'm not going to let him tell me to go away after he's been so distant.

He used to come home from a Concert and hug me until I couldn't breathe and all I heard around the House was "I love you guys." "I miss you." "Thank you so much." And now... The house is silent without his bubbly-ness.

I know I'm only eleven, but I can tell when my brother isn't happy.

"I said go away Aaliyah."
He snaps harshly without removing his eyes from his phone.

His outburst hurts, but what hurts more is seeing my brother--my role model--Not happy.

I close the door and walk over to him.

I'm taking a big risk, but it's for love.

I snatch his phone from his hand and lodge it in the waist band of my pants.

"Aailyah, it's not cute. Give it to me now."

"No, Shawn. Why aren't you the same anymore?"

"What do you mean? I'm still your brother and my name is still Shawn. Now give it."

"No, Shawn. You know what I mean."

"Aaliyah, I don't care what you have to say. It's my room and my rules. Give me my phone and get out."

"But Shawn."

"GOSH AAILYAH, WHY ARE YOU SUCH A BRAT!? DONT YOU UNDERSTAND I DONT CARE ANYMORE!? LEAVE. NOW."

I look at him with the biggest, most fearful eyes as I see that he has now processed what he just told me.

"Aaliyah, I didn't-"

"FINE. HERES YOUR STUPID PHONE."

I throw his phone across the room not caring where it hit or if it would break.

As I'm walking out his door I pause and say one thing:

"I just wanted to know if I can bring back my loving and caring brother, but now I see that there's no point. He's gone and not coming back."
