Chapter 2

"Tory! Are you alright, kiddo?" Kit and Whitney were bending over me, with anxious eyes.
I was on the floor. Oh god! I had fainted!
"I'm fine." I croaked, "Water, please."
Whitney hurried over to get some water while Kit helped me up onto the chair. Whitney soon came with a glass of water.
"Are you OK, darling? You look like you are about to throw up."
"I'm fine. Need to use the bathroom." I said getting up from the chair, " I'm not hungry. You can continue. I need to rest."
"Are you sure, Tory?" Kit asked.
"I'm fine." I repeated. I hurried to my bedroom as fast as I could without making Kit and Whitney suspicious.
I locked myself into my room, booted my Mac and waited. Almost at once my screen divided into two. Ben's face appeared next to mine.
"Did it happen for you as well?"
I nodded, "What do you think just happened to us?"
"Dunno. I almost fell, overcome by dizziness. I also felt weak...as if I would be bedridden for the rest of my life. I was in the bathroom, brushing my teeth. When I looked into my mirror, I saw myself with blue eyes. Can you believe that, Tory? You were not imagining it, after all! Though I believed you the first time itself."
"Wait. You didnt faint?" I asked, confused.
"No, of course not. Don't tell me you did."
"I did." If Hi or Shelton had been there, I wouldn't have confessed about the fainting, it would make me seem weak. But Ben was the next person I could trust after Kit.
"Goodness! Are you hurt? Wait. I'm coming over right now."
"NO! Ben! I'm fine! Really! And plus, it's already late! I'll see you tomorrow okay?"
"But-"
"Err, is this a conversation we should be interrupting?" The screen split into three, with Hi and Shelton in the third one.
"Hey, you're late." I said, trying to avoid talking about my little incident.
"Is it just me or did you guys have an episode of dizziness too?" Shelton adjusted his glasses nervously.
"You did?" Ben asked.
"Yeah, while we were playing Super Smash Bros.That's why I'm in this old dude's place!" Shelton gestured to Hi who nodded.
" Well," I said, "Actually-"
"You fainted, didn't ya?"
"Kinda."
"What do you mean 'kinda'!?" Shelton burst out, "This could be serious!"
"Calm down." I said, not feeling calm at all, "This might just be because of our sudden loss of flares. First tell us what happened to you both."
"Well, I was playing on my PS2," Hi started, "Hiding and playing you know, Mommy dearest banned me from playing video games for a week because I had broken her new vase while playing on the Wii. Anyway, I was playing that and she caught me. But before I could hide it out of sight, the world suddenly started spinning. I didn't faint but I couldn't see anything for a minute. Everything was black. I could hear everything though. But I am thankful. Mum might allow me to play because I think she thinks that I almost fainted due to her anti-video game rule."
"I was also playing when all of a sudden I couldn't hear anything,everything was spinning and then the next thing I remember is Hi bending over me. Basically, I fainted too." Shelton said, pulling both earlobes.
Then Ben and I filled them in. There was a long pause after that which I broke, "Well is anyone hurt?"
"No." Shelton squeaked.
"Not me." Hi said.
"Are you hurt?" Ben asked.
I suppressed a sigh. My boyfriend was getting a bit overprotective. "I'm fine."
"Then so am I."
"So does anyone have any idea what this is about?" Hi started quickly, clearly anxious to change the subject, " Or any plan about what to do next?"
Two grim headshakes.
"I think it's time we pay Chance a visit."
