Janellys' POV
I get to Junior's school and I get there early but I don't have time to leave and come back later. So I go to the office to sign him out.
"Can I help you?" The lady at the front desk asks me.
"Yes, hm im here to sign out my child." I walk up to the desk.
"Name please?" She asks.
"Demetrius, Demetrius King." I reply fast.
"Sign here," she opens a binder and points, "I.D. Please?"I handed her my ID and she checks it in the computer then calls his class. He comes down to the office and we leave. We get in the car and leave back to Trey's house. I drop off Junior and leave. Trey and I still aren't talking. He knows why. That's f*cked up how he reacted. Especially that Devon's my damn brother, but okay.
The next couple weeks go by and I still haven't talked to Trey. I pick up Junior from school and drop him off like I usually do. Sometimes I don't take him back home right away. Which he doesn't mind. I take him to my place where he does his home work and plays around with Devon. Junior likes Devon. I'm glad. I don't know what's my next move with Trey is but we have to figure something out because we can't keep doing this. It's not good for Junior. Though he's not my biological son, he's still our kid. I put as much effort into this as he does and I'm trying to give Junior the mom he doesn't have. Since I don't have kids of my own he's all I have. I want him to have a family. A whole family. Trey needs to make up his mind. Wether he's going to keep being like this or not. This isn't healthy for Junior and I can't be back and forth with him because he keeps asking questions, I don't have the answer to.
"When are you going to be back at daddy's house. I know he misses you allot Jay." Junior sits on the couch next to me then lays down with his head in my lap.
I play with his curls, "I don't know kid. Your daddy needs to think fast."
He starts giggling, "think fast." He says over and over again.
"Your a goof ball," I chuckle. I just look down at him and he has his eyes closed. I don't care what anybody has to say. This is my baby. I adore this kid. He's become part of my heart. I don't know what I would do with out him and Trey.
Devon comes in the door from outside, "who wants pizza?" He puts the box of pizza on the counter and Junior jumps up off the couch screaming, "me!"Devon started working last week at this warehouse and he's getting paid good money. By next week I'll sit down with him and start looking for tickets to get his girl and daughter down here. Meanwhile I get a phone call. It's from Trey. When I pick up he's yelling which confused me. It sounded like he was at work. He never calls me when he's at work.
"Hello?" I said very low.
"Hold on, yea hello? You have Junior right?" He stopped yelling when he spoke.
"Yeah I have him, why?"
"Nothing, I wanted to make sure you got him from school. Come by later I want to talk to you."
"About?" I popped attitude because we have nothing to talk about.
"Listen I just want to talk. You don't have to do anything but hear me out."
"Well when I go to get Junior more clothes we can talk."
"What you mean get him more clothes?" He started to sound like he was getting angry.
"He wants to stay over here for a couple days. I didn't think it was going to be a problem."There was no doubt he wasn't mad and there's no doubt that I didn't cop an attitude either. We started arguing on the phone all because Junior wanted to stay over my house. What the hell is the problem here? He's basically my son too. When we get off the phone Devon and Junior are looking at me confused.
"Junior, baby you can't stay over okay. Your dad wants you home. Okay?"
"Ugh he never is any fun no more. It's no fair. I want to stay here with uncle Devon."
"I'm sorry."
