Chapter 18

9 Weeks later
Ryan is being discharged from the infirmary today. He is still stiff and very sore. My entire body is black and blue. Ryan is pulling up his jeans with difficulty. He finally zips and button them as Evelyn comes through the door. I see that he is moving slowly and he looks exhausted already. "Hi, need help?" Evelyn asks. Ryan sits down heavily on the bed. He still has to put on his shoes, socks, and a shirt. "Sure." Ryan said. Evelyn comes over to him and picks up his shirt. She helps him get the shirt over his badges. Then strightens it Ryan buttons it up. Evelyn picks up his socks and pulls them on his feet. Then slip on his shoes and ties them for him. Evelyn sees that he thinking Ryan has a distant look in his eye's plus he hasn't really spoken. Since Alph Luis told him that Bonnie is staying in the safe house. Joe and Walt walk in along with Terry, Tyler, Martin, and Cody. Joe is the pushing a wheelchair. And Dr. Allan is right behind them. He comes over to Ryan turns on a mini flashlight. "Follow the light." Dr. Alan said. He is fine I really won't him to stay another week. But he is heathy enough to leave I have no reason to keep here. I turn off the light hold out the clipboard. "Sign this and you can go." Dr. Allan said. Ryan took the clipboard and signed the release paper's. I stand slowly and sit down gently in the chair. "I advise you to take it easy and absolutely no shifting. For three month's." Dr. Allan said. Ryan nods. Evelyn pushes me out the infirmary when we get to the door. She stops and I stand up. Then we walk out the door's there is a car waiting for me Walt opens the back door. "Come on you can't walk to the pack house. Not in your condition." Walt said. Ryan clinches his jaw. But gets in the car. When they stop in front of the pack house. Zoey and Eliza came out. I opened my door and step out of the car. Zoey hugs me gently. Eliza takes my arm and leads me inside. " We thought we'd move you to another room till-"I'm staying in our room. I can make it up there thanks." Ryan said. He walks up the stairs. I never knew how far up our room was. When I finally made it to our room. I opened the door and walked in and went straight to the bed sat down. I was shaking with exhaustion. Ryan crawls farther up on the bed till he got to the pillows. He is wheezing from the clime of the stairs. Ryan slowly drifts off to sleep.
      Bonnie is sitting outside on the back porch watching the sun set. Luther comes to the back door. To see Bonnie starring out at the sitting sun and silently crying. She has been doing this since they had to move to another safe house. I open the screen door and step out. "Bonnie, what's wrong?" Luther asks. She looks over at me. Luther goes over sits next to her. Bonnie wipes her eye's. I can't explain it. "It's just a terrible feeling that have that something bad has happened. Their keeping us in the dark. We are totally cut off from everyone. Ryan could be dead-"Stop! Bonnie he would go to the ends of the earth for you. He will take care of Victor when it's safe he will come for you." Luther said. She puts her arm's around Bonnie comforting her. Bonnie crys herself out on to my shoulder. The screen door opens. Aly come over squats down in front of Bonnie. "I know what will cheer you up. How about the three of us go in the kitchen and we will help you make one of your amazing dishes." Aly said. Bonnie gives a watery chuckle. Aly stands and takes Bonnie's arm pulls her up from the bench. Luther stands to and takes Bonnie's other arm and pulls her to the door.
Knock...Knock...Knock... Ryan wakes up he sits up with difficulty. Then swings his legs off the bed. I stand pain radiates through my body. Ryan walks to the door. And opens it to find Joe there wear a skimpy dress and a flirtatious smile. "Hi, Ryan can I come in we need to talk." Joe said. Ryan brings the door to him not letting her in. What the hell is she doing? "Joe what in the hell are you doing-"I thought that was easy to guess. I want to be with you-"Leave now I have a mate that I'm in love with don't try to do this again ever." Ryan said. "And if she was here she would whip your ass for trying this." Evelyn said. Joe turns to face Evelyn she glares at her them stalked past her. I can't believe she tried that. "Thanks for coming to the rescue." Ryan said. Evelyn smiles at him. He is blushing and anger. "Are you up to coming down to eat dinner with all of us?" Evelyn asks. Ryan is shocked he sleeped through the day. He doesn't really want to be alone. "Yeah sure." Ryan said. He shuts the door behind him and follows Evelyn down the stairs. They pass Tyler and Joe in a major lip lock. They break apart. Tyler growls. "Mate!" He pins Joe to the wall and ravages her mouth. Joe opens the door at her back they fall in. Tyler kicks the door shut behind them. Evelyn and I look at each other then laugh. We continue down the stairs. When we reach the bottom we go to the dinning room. Almost everyone was already there waiting. Evelyn and Ryan walk pass them go into the kitchen. Zoey rushes to Ryan. "Oh no you don't go back out there sit down with everyone else. Go!" Zoey said. Ryan retreats back into the dinning room and takes a sit next to Maritn. "Have you heard yet? Martin asks. Ryan shakes his head. "Alph Luis is talking with Alph Ralph again. He has been shut up in his office with Aron all day. Something is up." Cody said. Ryan has a bad feeling about this. Luis is acting strange. Why is he talking to the Alph if the Nightshade pack? "Why did Walt punch Nil?" Ryan asks. Martin and Cody laugh. Once they gain control of themselfs. "He made the mistake of saying that you were a acting like a child. Walt didn't like that so he punched him." Martin said. Ryan was distracted by Eliza, Lilly, Evelyn and Zoey bring put plates of food. They sat down mounds of mash potatoes, green beans, and steak. Once everyone is sittled they say grace them dig in. Ryan eats all that is on his plate. He looks to Luis's empty chair and Aron's. What are they up to? "Ryan, if your done help me carry this empty dishes to the kitchen." Eliza said. Ryan nods then stands up agnoring the pain he grabs the dirty dishes. And takes them to the kitchen. Eliza is at the sink filling it with soapy water. "Just stack them there. I'll get them started. Bring in some more." Eliza said. Ryan heads back to the door to the dining room. It opens Evelyn and Walt bring in the rest of the dishes.
     After dinner Ryan walks up the stairs alone. He is walking past Luis's office when it opens. "Ryan, come in here for a moment." Aron said. He walks into the office and see the remains of their dinner on the desk. Luis is at his desk he is massaging his temples. "I know your anger with me. You'll just have to get over it. I'm doing what I think is best for my daughter and unborn grandchild. With the help of the Nightshade pack we are a rounding up Victor's more dangerous supports. As of right now if thing keep going. Well you'll see Bonnie in a couple month's. Just in time to see your child brought into this world." Luis said. Ryan is shaking badly he must not shift. "I really want to rip his head off!" Gel said. " Is that it. That doesn't make everything okay. Great you found his supporters. I can't shift for three more month's. I could be waiting with Bonnie right now." Ryan said. Luis could see that he is pain in more than one way. He truly love's Bonnie. I couldn't ask for better man for my daughter. " I'm sorry but it's not yet time for you to see each other. That's all I have to say." Luis said. Aron opens the door for Ryan. I turn and storm out of Luis's office. Ryan makes to their room he opens the door then slams it shut. I walk to the bed and sit down. Ryan breathing is coming in a rattling sound. He stands and walks to the door and locks it. Then unbuttoned his shirt and slowly slide down his arms. His torso is heavily badges. He toes off his shoes then unbuttons his jeans. Ryan notices that Dr. Allan had someone bring up fresh badges there almost a dozen boxes on his dresser. I step out my jeans walks into the bathroom and turns the light on. I slowly undo the badges from around my torso. As he undoes the badge he sees the pink scars all over his torso. I know I have even more on my back. The last of the badges fall away from his torso he is black and blue. I gather the dirty badges and throw them away. I go to the shower and open the door. I turn it on to full blast. Then I shut the door and step under the warm spray. The water feel nice on my skin. Ryan washes up them also washes his hair. When done his body is screaming in agony. He grabs a towel from the shelve. And gentle drys himself off trying not hurt himself more. I wrap the towel around my waist. Then go into the room grab a pair of boxers from my dresser. Then I rummage till I find a pair of short and put them on over my boxers. Ryan grabs the badges and start to wrap up his torso. He does it like the nurse showed him. I type it then make sure it's tight. Ryan goes to the desk picks up the litter and walks back to his dresser and places it with the ring. As he closes it. Knock...Knock... Ryan walks to the door and unlocks it then opens it. Zoey is standing there. She looks like she has been crying. "Luis just told what he said to you. He is just trying to protect her. He is keeping something from me. I know it. Something else has him so worried. Don't judge him to harshly." Zoey said. With that she turns and leaves. Ryan watches her till she disappears down the stairs. I shut the door and lock it. Ryan goes to bed and pushes all the throw pillow to one side of the bed. He pulls down the covers then slides in.
    It's near one in the morning no one is awake to see me. He breaks the lock to Alph Luis's office. I don't turn on the light I search by the moonlight. It has to be here. He is to ignorant not write down the place that he is hiding his daughter and unborn grandchild. I try to open the compartments but they are locked. I open my knife and slide it around the lock til it clicks. He pulls out the books. I take a sit this going to take a while. There are four books here he was never allowed to be present. When Luis opened them. So he doesn't know what they are. I flip through the first one with no success. I put that back in the compartment. I open the second one it's a list of every wolf in pack. He flips through this one to this one is the day to day affairs of the town. The fourth time is the charm. "Here we go!" It's outlines every alliance they have ever been in. As while as every battle. Finally here it is. " So this is where they hid you away at." They moved her to a secondary location. He put the rest of the books on top of the others and shut the compartment. This shall be easy once he gets his hands on Bonnie then everything. Will fall into place. Not exactly as planned but one must adapt.
