(Technically Part two of 'His Teacher', just from the other pov.)
He hated this.
Hated how everyone looked at him like he was a threat to the children he taught. Hated how people said his friendship with the one was inappropriate.
He often thought about that student.
Not in the way they assumed though.
He would look at that Boy, His Student, and see the pain behind those eyes that he covered with his bangs and would just... Be there. For his Student. That was in pain.
And now he couldn't be there for him.
All he could give him was a piece of redstone, shaped in that of a crescent Moon. Smooth. Simple. That's all he could give his student.
HIS Student.
The Only one of them that didn't look at him like he was a threat, a freak. Even if he never saw under his Hood, he trusted him. Told him about his home life, Told him about everything he wanted to tell him. Someone.
A Part of him could never move on from how his Student had stood there, shock, fear, sadness and grief all over his face as he looked like he wanted to reach out. To him. For him.
HIM.
The Man no one else wanted, the one even his Father looked at him with disgust. Even His own leader was glad when he said he'd be gone for a few years doing something. It Hurt.
It hurt that a Boy that was so young was the only person who he knew cared about him. A boy who's family was horrible to him. He needed help. He wanted to give the boy that help, but he couldn't.
It would look bad, make it seem like he was exactly what they thought he was. A predator. He wasn't. He really wasn't. He would rather die then harm a child.
He often found himself wondering if His Student missed him, He hoped that the kid didn't. But also hoped he did. He loved spending time with him, helping him express himself more.
He remembered the first time his Student had entered his Classroom, A Dark Blue hoodie over his Shirt. He got bullied, He could tell that the moment everyone Glared at the boy who just shrank in his chair after sitting down, looking like he'd rather be anywhere else.
And Yet he did something that the students scared of him for a while, He grabbed one of the Bullies arms and stared at him, Not saying a word until they all backed off before grinning and going right back to teaching, reminding everyone that if they needed help with anything they could always ask him.
It took a few days before his Student came to him himself, he wore a Dark red hoodie that day and he didn't say anything, Just sat in his normal seat despite his class being over.
He had decided to let the boy take his time to ask whatever he wanted to ask, so he graded the papers and went to make a few potions. At first he hadn't noticed the boy watching him do it, but when he had he just grinned at him and lifted a potion, purposefully dropping it to the boy's horror.
And he laughed, cleaning it up before telling the boy that what he made didn't make stains, it was a type of cleaning agent. That had caught the Boy's attention, tilting his head curiously as he watched him make different potions, taking out a old battered notebook and taking notes with a Pencil that looked like it had been through two wars and barely made it out. Somehow.
So he made a decision, just one. He grabbed a pencil from his desk and placed it in front of the boy before going back to his work. He watched the boy stare in shock before the smallest smile appeared on his face.
That's how they're friendship had began, well... Mentorship? Friendship? He didn't know what they had been. He was his student.
Would always be his Student. Always.
He would always remember that boy who wore Hoodies that would explain how he felt that day, A Dark Blue for when he was Sad and didn't want anyone to talk to him but wanted company, A Dark Red for when he wanted quiet but wanted chaos at the same time and Dark Purple when he was scared and didn't know what else to say. Brighter Colors meant better things, darker meant worse things. White meant he was Extremely Happy or just wanted to be neutral, Gray was neutral and Black was Mourning.
He'd miss his Student.
He hoped he'd see him again, in a better state then he last saw him that Rainy day.
He could only hope that his bo- Student would be able to still be himself after it and wouldn't hide how he felt all the time again.
