Once Water 7 was said and done, the Straw Hat Pirates were able to get through the following days in uneventful fashion... Rare, for them, but no less enjoyable.
Granted, all of them likely would've enjoyed it more had the weather been a bit warmer. The skies were covered by dense clouds, colored blue-gray, like concrete coated in sleet; Every other hour the snow would come down in hurried flurries; and, sneaky as sin, wintry cold creeped through wooden boards like a scheming stowaway; So when the night arrived to lay claim over dreams, the crew was forced to scour the ship for extra warmth.
In spite of the initial hurdles, everyone eventually adapted to the weather's unruly disposition after two or three days, as you might expect from the ever-rebounding Straw Hats... Still, with the distractions lessened – their members grown confident in traveling amongst harrowing icebergs and teetering waves – the group began to pick out the odder ongoings aboard their new ship.
At first, they brushed it off.
It all began with your phone. Being in the dilemma that it was, the machine needed a dire tending to. Made into a beloved tradition of blaring music and picture-taking, nobody in the group could bear to see it go, most especially regarding the girls. That morning, you sat together as a trio just as you normally would, and put your heads together to find a solution. It came relatively quick. Nami remembered you said something about needing to charge the device's battery, and your relayed description allowed Robin to arrive at the perfect solution. Why not ask Franky?
Then you were tip-toeing up to Franky as if at risk of waking a bear, nervous for a reason that they can't begin to understand. Well, maybe not nervous... It looked as if you were debating the best way to approach the situation, considering the amount of complicated intricacies contained in the tiny brick. In the end you do grow the balls to make your request to Franky (pun intended).
That'd been almost thirty minutes ago. If nothing else, the conversation looked interesting enough for a pardon. Franky was completely enthralled, shouting at the top of his lungs whenever certain details gained his interest, otherwise pondering with a large finger pressed to his lips. The man looked positively ridiculous in his furred leather jacket (lookin' like a blue-haired cyborg version of Leon Kennedy), wearing nothing else but his speedo, hulking over your shorter stature as your hands fling around, enhancing your explanation.
From afar, the girls broke conversation to glance over at the commotion. Even with your limited knowledge, it appeared to them that you were making some leeway... That is, until Luffy dropped from the mast, racing over to you with a bright smile.
The captain speeds to a stop, a second away from ramming straight into your body. "Hey!" He flings both arms over your shoulders. "What're you talkin' about?"
You sway under the abrupt weight, healed well enough to stand, not to bear weight. When you huff, disgruntled, he lays off a bit.
"Super nosy, bro."
Flustered by the interruption, the heat on your cheeks is unignorable. You lose your train of thought in an instant. Sigh. Crossing your arms, your retort is short and singular; "Nunya."
Head lifting, Luffy's ears perk at the unknown word. Was that another one of your 'slang' words? "Nunya... What?"
"Nunya business."
