(Malfoy Manor)

Lucius and Narcissa were in the study. Both were playing chess. It was a pastime they enjoyed. As they played they talked about their plans. It was something they had started doing after Voldemort was no longer a threat.

"I want to use one of the old manors or find a building to set up as an orphanage for magical children." Narcissa told him.

"That sounds like a good idea. Let me know if you want any help." He told her.

"If we were to use one of our old manors I would need to see them. I am afraid I do not know them all." She told him.

"I will make sure you get the property list tomorrow." He told her.

"And you will come with me when I look at them." She said rather than asked.

"Of course." He was amused.

"Good boy." She teased.

"Woof." He playfully barked.

That just made her laugh. He watched her with a loving smile. She noticed and turned a little pink. His smile widened at that. In retaliation she took his queen. He rolled his eyes at that. Knowing when to tease and when to change the subject, Lucius made his next move and changed the subject.

"I want to personally find my old victims and apologize. In person." He said, not looking at his wife.

"That sounds like a brave, yet wonderful idea." She told him.

"I hope so." He sighed.

"Did you want me there?" She asked.

"Yes." He answered.

"Then I will be." Narcissa said.

"Thank you." He said.

"Of course my love." She smiled at him.

They continued to play in silence. In the end Narcissa won the game. Lucius swore she cheated but he couldn't figure out how. His wife just smiled at him. Life had certainly changed for them and it was for the better. They no longer had to hide. Not outside their home and not inside it. The threat was gone. Now it was time to continue to fix their past mistakes.

Both went to their old school victims. They each apologized for what they had done. Some had not forgiven them. They were surprised when the Malfoys understood and accepted. Some had understood that they had been raised that way and were thankful the two had changed. Unfortunately some were dead and so they could not talk. That didn't stop them from going to their graves or altars and apologizing.

Lucius had given Narcissa a list of properties the Malfoys owned. They had then gone through each and everyone of them. They had the house elves clean them. Eventually they found three properties. Two were turned into orphanages. One was named after Harry and the other named after Narcissa. Both were staffed with people they took a long time to investigate and all that were highly trained and very experienced. They would inspect the properties at least once a month. They saved thousands of children.

The third property was set up as a school/daycare. They would watch children so that the parents could go to work while also teaching the children everything they would need to know before going to school at 11. The best part was that it was offered to muggleborns that stayed with their muggle relatives and would be able to go as well so they wouldn't be left behind.

There were some that believed that they were only doing this for good publicity. Some that believed they had truly changed. There were actually a great many that didn't care about the reason behind the orphanages and the daycare/school. They were just happy that they had done it. Draco made sure to keep up the expectations his parents had about the buildings after they were no longer able to do it themselves. He taught this to his children and grandchildren.

Draco had married Lola. He had been so nervous to even propose but with the help of his friend Blaise he was able to. She had said yes. Many had believed he would throw a huge, lavished wedding. They were wrong. It was a small, but beautiful affair. They had it at her family's cottage.

The two went on to have two beautiful children. Both were boys. They were very spoiled by both sets of grandparents. The oldest then broke the Malfoy tradition of having boys by having four baby girls and one baby boy. It made Lucius and Narcissa weep in joy. The youngest only had one child, a baby boy. The family was happy about it.

Lucius died after his 153rd birthday. He had gotten a new strain of the wizarding flu. His poor body couldn't handle the strain and he sadly passed away from it. A few weeks later Narcissa died in her sleep. The healers believed it was from a broken heart. Draco had their portrait hung up in the living room.

Draco had changed a few creature laws after his oldest son had married a veela. They were much safer in Britain than ever before. Granger had tried to stop him as well as free house elves but she had failed. No one was on her side or willing to hear her out. Especially after she nearly started a war between wizards and goblins. All because Draco managed to get a bill passed that allowed them to wield wands.

She had been against it and her arguments had angered the goblins. It wasn't because she was afraid they would become more powerful and it wasn't because she believed they were beneath them. No it was because it ruined the way they would be seen. She wanted them to stay the monsters the stories had prescribed and not the wonderful creatures that they actually were.

They way she described them as monsters had set them off. Luckily Lola was able to smooth things over. She showed them that the only one to see them as monsters was Granger. They banned her from the bank. Eventually she left the wizarding world.

Despite all the political work Draco had done he still worked on his potions. He created a few potions to help babies and a few to help abused children. Mostly he taught children potions. Unlike his godfather, he enjoyed teaching. He even worked at Hogwarts as the potion professor.

Lola went on to become an alchemy master. She even studied under the famous Nickolas Flamel. She taught alchemy at her old school. She even invented a stone to turn objects into diamonds. She never revealed it though. She was too afraid of those stealing it out of greed.

They retired to the mountains. The lordship passed to the oldest son. Eventually the two passed away of old age. Their portraits were placed next to Lucius and Narcissa's. All four were pleased with how their lives had gone.
