I walked up the stairs and grabbed a suitcase and put a bunch of my clothes in and my shower stuff and tooth brush and tooth paste. The original things that women need. I left a note for Jared, telling him I was going to be gone for a couple of days because of a case took me to Wyoming. Big lie, but oh well. There was a knock on my door. I grabbed my holster, slid it onto my belt and slid an extra clip and my gun in. I was a cop for a few years, so, I don't go anywhere without it. I clipped my badge on my belt as well and made sure it was visible. I grabbed a few more clips and shells and put them in my gun case that fit perfectly in my suitcase. I walked down the stairs and lay the spare key to the gun room in the bowl and headed to the front door to find it was Mick standing outside. I opened the door.
"You should have come on in."
"I didn't want to be rude." he said. "Or scare you rather."
"I'll be okay, I guess. I have my gun. I have everything I need in this suitcase. I left my brother the spare key to the gun room and left him a note telling him I was going to be gone for a couple of days because a case led me to Wyoming. It's not the best lie, but it's suitable."
"You ready to head back to my place? Or do you want to go get breakfast?"
"I'll grab a few snacks from the pantry. No need to go all the way downtown for breakfast with all the traffic right?"
"I guess that's true."
I sat my suitcase down and walked into the kitchen and opened the pantry door. I pulled out a small cooler and put snack bars of different sorts, protein shakes, water, chips and some junk food enough to last me a while. I closed the door a preceded into the living room to find Mick holding my suitcase.
"I'll carry it for you."
"You don't have to."
"No, it's okay. Besides, your the guest anyways."
"That's true."
He put his sunglasses on and opened the door and I followed. We headed back up the block to the complex apartments. Everything was getting to me, and I tried to fight the feeling of passing out on the street. But the closer as we got to the apartments, I found myself struggling to keep my eyes open and my feet straight. Everything was swirling around me and I started to get sick to my stomach. Everything was so bright and so loud to me and I tried to give any of it away to Mick. We finally reached the glass revolving doors and all the smells was intensified. Everything was intensified. Peoples voices, phones, watches, the sound of shoes on the carpet and concrete, the elevator, everything was getting to me too much. It was starting to make me go insane little by little. We were on the elevator, no one was on thank god. I leaned against the railing, put my head back on the wall, closed my eyes and exhaled deeply. I gripped the poles tightly. By this time, Mick must have figured out something was wrong, but he didn't say a word. The noise of the elevator dinged and he squeaking of the doors opening sounded like nails on a chalkboard. He walked out and I followed. He pulled out his remote and I was a little bit behind. I heard the door open and I started to sweat. My mouth watered like crazy. My eyes and head hurt my throat felt like it was on fire. I would freeze then burn up. He walked in and I heard the suitcase hit the floor and as soon as I walked over the threshold, I felt my legs giveaway and my mind my body draws to the weight.
