Blood is vengence

*MICK'S POV**

Emily was gone for quite some time. I started to get worried. Hours had passed since I last saw and heard from her. I put on my coat, stuck my sunglasses into my pocket and headed out my complex to the elevator. I sniffed and caught her scent. My abilities of being a vampire allowed me to see what happened in the past a few hours ago or years ago. It showed that she got out of the elevator and saw a conflict going on between a couple of guys and the man at the desk in the lobby.

The doors opened and I saw the man at the desk. Her scent was still in the air, but it was faint. I headed towards the revolving doors and headed outside. I saw her car still sitting across the street a few yards from where I was standing. Her door, still opened. I checked before crossing and quickly jogged to the car. I sniffed again and this time, I saw something different. I saw the guys from the lobby, sneaking up behind her and striking her in the face hard enough to fracture the whole left side of her face, dazing her and giving them the privilege to kidnap her. And that's what happened. They kidnapped her.

My heart sank to my stomach of the sickened thought. I needed to find her and make sure she was still alive. I looked around the street to see if I could notice anything else that could help me find Emily. I retched into my pocket, pulling out my keys and running to my car. I was able to get the license plate number from the car that Emily was forced into. At this moment, sheer hatred and anger and regret shot through my entire body and mind. I hated myself for not going with her. If I did, she would not be in the position she was in now.

There are so many places to take someone and hide them for the longest time before the law to even find you. There's the observatory by the lake then there's the dam, there's the shipyard, a couple of abandoned army base compounds that are scattered throughout California, the industrial district and the power plants. I knew where every one was located at and one of these locations is where I will find Emily, but it would take weeks to narrow down the exact location.

The group of guys were members of the Hermanos En Muerte, a Spanish gang that are scattered throughout California. I've dealt with them before. Joshua Lindsey, a District Attorney and Beth Turner's boyfriend was one of the victims of Hermanos En Muerte. It was a case that Josh was on that had to deal with the main boss of the entire gang. He murdered other DA's in two different countries. Hired his best men for the jobs. And for Josh, he was on their list. They warned him to back off the case at first and if he didn't, Beth was going to be next. They kidnapped him and was going to come after Beth. They made attempts on her life and every time I was near her, that gave me the chance to save her. Lieutenant Carl of the LAPD, Beth and I went after the guys to save Josh. I was unable to save him in time. He was shot five times and luckily for him, I had experience with this type of thing in World War 1. I was a medic and I attended to his wounds, but he was too wounded enough for me to save him. He died and Beth begged me to turn him. There was no chance that I was going to turn him into a monster like me. He wouldn't have wanted that. I didn't save him like Beth wanted me to, and she was angry with me for some time. I felt that she hated me for not saving him for her. She later found out that he was going to propose to her making it harder for her and hating me even more, but he didn't get the chance to. Now, knowing that these were the same guys who threatened Beth and killed Josh, they were going to taste my wrath again. And this time, I'll make sure that everyone is dead.

Thoughts flooded my head of what they could be doing to Emily. I didn't want to think of those thoughts and I fought against them. I felt the urge of my inner vampire coming out. I couldn't sustain it, or keep it chained anymore. No matter how hard I fought to try and keep it hidden and caged, but this triggered it. I had no clue why they would kidnap Emily. She wasn't involved in any of their business. She doesn't know who this group is, or what it is they do or did. Maybe it's the fact that she looks like Beth. Maybe they think that they could go after Beth again, but instead they captured Emily. It became clear to me that after I went after Téjhada to get my revenge after Josh dying and Beth being hurt by his death. Now, they were going to get their revenge.
