I swear we walked for days, but no it was just a few long silent hours. The road was farther than we thought, I think we are almost there. I can hear the steady sound of cars making wind, and I can feel it. I stopped and turned to Gwen and Simon.
"Guys I think we are almost to the interstate, when we get there you will stay hidden. I am going to flag down a car and get rid of the driver. When I do that you will come out and get in the car and we will drive away. Got it," I say quickly in a whisper.
They both nodded their heads, and we start walking again. Five minutes later we were at the interstate, I turned to Gwen and Simon and motion for them to stop. I stepped out of the woods and onto the shoulder of a busy crowded interstate. Then I stuck my thumb out and tried to stand as attractively as I could. A black lifted up truck pulled up beside me on the shoulder.
"Need a ride?" said a guy from the drivers seat.
Inside the cab was a guy who had to be a certified redneck. I gave a flirtatious smile as his eyes skimmed up and down my body. He unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door, and hopped out if his truck. In a few moments he was lying on his back knocked out. I jumped into the truck and waved my hand towards the woods motioning for Gwen and Simon to come on. They ran and jumped into the truck, I started the ignition and drove away.
"Whoohoo!" Simon said from the passenger seat.
"You beat him down!" said Gwen from the back.
"It was nothing," I said gripping the steering wheel.
-FOUR AGONIZING HOURS LATER-
"There are no good radio stations out here!" Gwen whined once again.
"Gwen can you just shut up for once!" Simon said.
That had been going on for the last four freaking hours. Fighting and whining, it hadn't ended but we had just passed over the Virginia state line we were almost to the Academy. Thank God.
"Hey! How about shut up!" I yelled.
I don't yell to often so they shut up real quick. The truck settled into an uncomfortable silence.
"We’re almost there," I said. They looked relieved but stayed silent.
It wasn't until fifteen minutes later we pulled up to the huge golden gates on the outskirts of Norton. The academy looked exactly the same I hadn't been there in over a year now. Gwen still had a year left in that hell hole.
I loved my years at the academy but the head master hated me because of who my farther was. He treated me unfairly he would have people watch me and if I stepped one toe out of line detention for a solid week. He acted like I was dirt like my father like I was a monster.
Gwen had fallen asleep in the back I turned around and shook her awake
