Ky lived in the Western temple and Aang lived in the Southern temple, but that never stopped them visiting each other. The day after Aang ran away Ky was found meditating on her bedroom floor, in the avatar state. No one knew but Gyatso that they were secretly connected as they were the two avatars the legend spoke about.
