Chapter 4

Ethan pov:

After two hours of sleep and serious thought to my situation Im up eating a bowl of cereal and toast that I made for myself. I'm the only one awake. I need to let the family know my decision.

It was a tough one to make one that kept me up all night and most of the morning too.

If I knew where Kiera was I would be with her, but unfortunately for me I don't so I must be a man and own up to my responsibility, no matter how much I hate it. Had I been there for Kiera and not let my father and his pack rules run my life I would be happy and with Kiera., but nothing can be done until I locate her.

My mother walks in. "Hello son you're up early." she say and kisses my forehead.

She started getting ingredients together for breakfast. I just sat there and watched her.

"What's wrong Ethan, why are you up so early?" she says while placing the bacon in the pan to cook.

"Mom, I really want to be with Kiera."

" Baby Kiera is human, that's a big issue for your father. Your mate will come along soon hopefully

before this wedding your father has arranged." she say walking over and hugging me.

"I believe Kiera is my mate." I say placing my head in my hands.

"Ethan Kiera is not your mate, she's human."

"My wolf say otherwise." remembering the way my wolf would say that when ever I saw Kiera.

"Your wolf, son if she was your mate you would know."

"Mom, I think I did. Whenever we touch I would feel small tingles but I just thought it was raging hormones and I needed to be with her everyday and keep her safe and I always wanted her happy. No other girls can compare she the most beautiful, kind caring person I ever met." I finish with a smile on my face.

"Oh son I'm so sorry." she say when dad walks in.

"Sorry about what"? he asks sitting down at the table.

"Nothing dear." my mom says standing and handing my dad his newspaper.

"Mom, Dad I need to talk to you both."

mom got up and turned her food down and sat next to my dad.

"What is it son." my dad say after my mom sits down.

"Janet claims to be pregnant, if she is I will do the right thing and be there for the baby but I will find Kiera and bring her back and we will be together." I finish staring at my parents.

"What! are you insane? you will not disgrace this household or this pack." my father say jumping up from his chair and walking towards me.

"Listen to me boy you will marry Janet and you will be a good husband. You will not look for that human girl. It is over you will not see or speak to her again. Do you understand." he say while pulling me from the chair.

My mother jumps up and rushes over and places her hands over my dads that has me by the collar.

My wolf is caught between obeying his alpha and protecting his mate.

my mom says "Dear let him go we are going to sit down and talk like adults."

My dad turns me lose and say with his wolf showing in his eyes." End of discussion you will do as you are told. Forget the human girl marry Janet and become the alpha I know you are. You already have a heir coming. You will treat her with the respect and love due an Luna who is about to give birth to the next line of alpha." he say in his alpha voice.

I slump to my chair in defeat and nod my head.

I will treat Janet with respect but I will never love her and I will raise my child with her but I will never stop looking for Kiera.

"Good now go invite my daughter here for a celebratory dinner." my dad say sitting back in his chair.

My mom looks at me with sadness in her eyes. I get up and go to call Janet over to celebrate the beginning of the end of my life.

Months later......

Its been months. I managed to get the wedding put off until Janet has our baby. Her and my father are really close. My mom seems really distant lately. You would think a soon to be mother would spend more time with my mom but Janet is always closed up somewhere whispering with my father and her welfare is his top priority. I don't mind it gives me time to locate Kiera.

I have my closes friends helping me look. Ones I can trust but we still can't find Kiera.

Soon Janet will give birth each day that draws near to her giving birth I dread. We haven't slept together since she say we conceived. She sleeps in another bedroom that my dad had especially for her.

We barely see each other for that I am glad, and tonight she leaves to go to her pack before the baby's birth. A scent I'm not use to hit me and in walked Janet.

"I'm leaving soon I just want to say goodbye." she say standing in the doorway.

I look at her and notice how her body looks so fit that the belly attached to it looked unreal.

"Why are you just staring at me ?say something." she say.

"Oh I'm sorry Janet. Goodbye have a safe trip." I say and sniff the air. The scent I smelled on her a couple months ago is different. Its like an essence of it but a small amount. Before I could ask her about it my father walks in and tell her its time to go.

When they walk off it seems like they are having a personal conversation with each other.

Its been a week and Janet called saying she had our baby early due to the traveling and it was a girl. I may hate Janet but I want to see my daughter. but Janet said she will be home some and not to worry.

Now its been another week Janet claiming her pack doctor won't let her travel so I'm packing to go pick her up and I just got a tip of a girl matching Kiera description.

My child comes first so I'm going to get her I wasn't there for my first child I'm not making the same mistake with this one no matter how much her mommy make my skin crawl.
