Amber's POV

I woke up to an empty space next to me. I sat up, recollecting memories of last night. I remember the nightmare, the crying, and the kiss. Oh god the kiss. Harry was a damn good kisser. What I wouldn't give to have that happen again. What does it mean though? Do we just carry on as usual. There is no way we can be involved romantically I guess. I mean, the mission is way too important. Well, if we can even call it a mission.

"Amber?" Harry appears at the doorway of the motel room. "We've packed everything in the car, you have around 20 minutes to get ready." 

He is wearing a plain white muscle tee with black skinny jeans, a bandanna keeping his hair out of his eyes. I nod, and he walks back out of the room. I get off my bed and pull the sheets as neatly as possible up the bed. My bag is already in the car so I can't change my clothes but I go to the bathroom and try my best to neaten my hair and wash my face. After deciding I look presentable I grab my jacket and sunglasses before heading out to the car. 

I see Harry checking out of the room and I join him as we walk out to the car. 

"You okay?" He asks, surprising me

"Um, yeah I guess." I say awkwardly but he just smiles at me before getting in the car. Ella is already in the back seat and I greet her kindly. She smiles back at me but does nothing else.

"So what now?" Ella asks as Harry pulls out of the motel and back onto the highway

"We can only presume that they are still after us, so we continue towards-" Harry's sentence is cut off by a loud bang to our left. The car swerves and I grip onto the door for stability. 

"What the fuck was that?" I peer into the rear view mirror but see nothing. I see Harry about to speak but he is cut off once again by flames engulfing the hood of the car. Ella screams and scrambles to get out of the car. 

I fumble with my seat belt until I hear the click and reach over to open the door. Something smashes into us from behind, and I am thrown onto the dashboard, breaking the windshield and into the flames. I scream out as the fire sears into my skin. I hear Harry yelling and Ella screaming as I roll off the hood onto the hard concrete.

The car suddenly explodes into flames and is in shards and pieces within seconds. The force of the explosion crashes into, along with some shards of metal. I can barely breath as I roll onto my side, watching different events happening at the same time through my blurred vision. Men pile out of a truck and run towards whats left of the car. I see two drag a body from the wreckage, and I presume it's Ella. 

Ignoring the burning pain shooting throughout my entire body, and the ringing in my ear, I weakly pull my gun from my jacket, and shakily hold it out. I hold in a scream as I pull the trigger, pain numbing my fingers. The bullet soars through the air and pierces the man's head. He collapses, dead, and the other man holding Ella looks up, shocked.

He sees me lying on the floor and sends me smirk. He drops Ella and walks slowly over to me. He kneels over me, grinning slyly. 

"Well if it isn't the famous Amber Blackthorn." He spits at me, a smirk still plastered on his face. "Now you're nothing but a weak little girl. I would kill you..." I can only send him a weak glare as he speaks, "But I have orders not to kill you. Shame really, but I suppose once we have you, you'll wish you were dead." 

The last thing I see is his smirk until I am engulfed by darkness.

I try to move but am only met with pain.

"Hush, child. Don't try to move, you'll only injure yourself more." I open my eyes, and as my vision clears. I am tied to a chair in a plain concrete room. A figure walks in front of me, bending down to my level and looking me in the eye. It was the man who murdered my family. 

"Why am I here. Where is Harry? Where's Ella!" I demand but he only chuckles and takes a seat across from me in a stool.

"So many questions." He waves them away with a chuckle and I glare at him. When he sees my glare he pouts mockingly, "Don't be down, I'll answer some things later. First, I need to introduce you to someone."

He stands, and opens the door. A man around the same age as me walks in. His dark brown eyes meeting mine as soon as he steps in. There was hatred in them, but also humor. I knew it wasn't because of something funny.

"Before you exchange polite greetings, something has crossed my mind. Do you even know my name?" The killer of my family asks and I shake my head. He grins, "In case you cared, it's Matthew." And with that, he walks out of the room, leaving me and the other man.

He sits down in the stool and examines me lightly. He then cracks a grin. "My name is Connor."

"Connor." I breathe, "You're the man they fired from the CIA."

He raises his eyebrows, still grinning. "Glad to hear that I'm famous."

"More like infamous." I tell him and he shrugs, still grinning like a crazy person. I let out an exasperated sigh. "Why are all of you so damn happy?!" I ask, getting sick of all their smirks and grins.

But this makes his smirk even bigger. "Don't you see? Everything is working out. We will have the third and final part of the key soon. You have basically already lost."

"Why are you with them?" I ask, "You know that whatever is behind the door can ruin America. Possibly the world." I try to get a reaction out of him but his grin just widens. I sigh as realization hits me. "You want revenge. You want revenge on the CIA for ruining everything. You want the satisfaction of being the purpose of their destruction, their downfall."

He claps. "Ding ding, we have a winner." He walks over to me and bends down to my height. "You are absolutely correct. I want to spill their blood and watch it splatter and spread on the ground. I want to feel the life drain out of Kevin as I drive a knife through his chest. I want to taste the sweet taste of revenge."

I don't speak and he continues. "And my dear Amber, my revenge starts with you."

Okay so Conner is played by Chris Woods.

For all those TVD peeps, I know that he played Kai, and I also know that Nina is Amber. So yes it is basically Kai and Elena. But lets move past that fact because they are amazing actors and I love them.
