A/N:

Jk I felt like updating.

******Trigger Warning******

Following their movie night, Camila and Lauren hadn't talked at all. Not that this wasn't normal, but Lauren thought she was going to try to give the brunette a little more attention.

About a week after their last interaction, Lauren decided to drop into Starbucks with the intention of ordering a tea to warm her up on this chilly morning. She'd been glancing down at a work related email when she heard a familiar voice. "What can I get for you Lauren?" Camila beamed. Lauren couldn't tell if Camila's cheery mood was because her job required her to be, or if it was natural.

In reality it was the former. The brown eyed beauty felt like shit today and was just really good at putting on a front. "Camila! I didn't know you worked here?" Lauren put on a fake happy mood. She honestly didn't want to deal with anyone today. Especially not Camila. "Yeah I've worked here for 3 years now!" Lauren rolled her eyes internally at the small talk. "Listen, could I get a venti green tea please?" She said with a bit of harshness in her voice.

"Can I get you anything else?" Camila asked, her smile never wavering. "No that's it, thanks." Shoving her debit card in Camila's direction, she pushes it back. "It's on me." She says winking. "Camilaaa. You really don't have to do that." "I insist Lo. Plus I'm the manager, so I get free drinks daily. It's really no big deal." Tossing her card back in her wallet, she sighs, then runs her hand through her hair. "Thank you Camz. I really appreciate it."

Camila winked, then moved from the cash register to prepare the tea. Once she was finished she called Lauren's name to gain her attention. The green eyed woman gratefully took her drink and began to turn on her heel to escape, when she was stopped by Camila's voice. "Hey wait! Would you like to go to dinner some time?" Just when Lauren thought she could make a clean getaway, this had to happen. "Yeah sure. Shoot me a text or whatever." Quickly turning away she made her hasty retreat to the door.

Lauren didn't have to go into the office today, but she decided to check in and see if they may need her help with something. Plus she sort of needed to get her mind off things. Today was a day that she'd rather not remember. A single tear escaped her eye as she thought back to the terrible life she once lived.

*Flashback*

"Why are you the stupidest person I've ever met?" Nadia asked Lauren in annoyance. Lauren stayed quiet and returned to making their lunch. Her girlfriend hadn't always belittled her, in fact, Nadia used to be the most amazing person she ever met. Since Nadia's brother was murdered 4 months ago, she's been hitting the bottle harder than ever and taking all her frustrations out on the green eyed girl. She couldn't help but feel like Nadia somehow blamed her for his death even though she had nothing to do with it.

Lauren tried everything she could to be there for the older girl, but to no avail. "Is that seriously Swiss cheese on my sandwich?" Nadia shouted. "You know goddamn well I don't like Swiss cheese." Snatching the plate from Lauren and catapulting it towards the wall. Lauren flinched as the plate shattered upon impact with the kitchen wall. She made a move to pick up the mess, when her girlfriend harshly took hold of her wrist. Nadia only stared at Lauren in pure fury before letting her go to tend to the broken glass and destroyed sandwich.

"How could she pick a fight with me over cheese? Is she really that drunk?" Lauren thought to herself. She really wasn't that surprised since Nadia has been on a straight path of destruction ever since her brother's untimely death. Once the mess was taken care of, she began to prepare another sandwich. "Don't even bother." A slurred voice appeared out of nowhere, causing Lauren to jump. "I'll just get something at work." Without thinking, Lauren asked, "Are you really going to work in your condition?"
