Emiko's POV
One name came to my mind. Rido. I guess it was nearly time for his attacks to commence. To be honest, I find it hard that this man is related to me despite our eyes being out similarities. I've heard stories about him when I was younger. Mo- I mean, Juri would always warn Yuuki about him. I had always intended to eavesdrop.
Apparently he is ruthless man, who is supposedly our uncle. He did horrific things to humans. Turning them into level E's and so forth. What was shocking was that he had created his own family.
Rido had taken an actress-a fairly beautiful lady at that-and had forced himself onto her. She became pregnant and gave birth to their son. Rido soon left her and his son and disappeared. The lady was left helpless and raised the boy all on her own. During that time, her mental state corrupted, turning her unstable.
Another story was told too. Rido was deeply in love with Juuri ever since they were children. Though they were blood-related, he couldn't care less as long as he was able to get her to fall deeply in love with him like he is with her.
Haruka, being the middle child, Rido always though he got in the way to the path of his love. He had always been jealous of Haruka and begun hating him because he was 'taking' her away from him.
Rido became insane. He was desperate to have Juuri yet he couldn't because she didn't love him back.
Haruka and Juuri eventually fell in love and got married. One day when Juuri was home, knitting a scarf for Haruka, Rido appeared and plunged his fangs right into her neck, taking her blood. She cried out to Haruka to save her. Haruka rushed upstairs but Rido was already gone.
This is the reason why Juri and Haruka hate me so much. I remind them of a nightmare.
Originally, I thought Rido was after Yuuki but now that I've read the letter, I was truly mistaken. I have met the man once or twice as a child but I don't really know what I should be feeling.
*FLASHBACK*
Knock Knock Knock
There was a knocking sound. It didn't come from the door but instead it came from the window. I was in my room reading a book like I usually do. I placed the book down and went over to the window. It was snowing outside yet I couldn't see anyone.
Using my small hands, I unhooked the hook and pushed it open. Cold air blew into my room, sending goosebumps all over my body. I was only wearing a night gown after all.
I started to sniff the air when I caught unusual scent flying around my room. My eye glowed red whilst the other glowed icy blue and I swiftly turned around to a dark figure hiding in the shadows.
I let out a growl.
"Who are you?" I spoke, authority lingering in my voice. I must've inherited that from Kaname.
"My, my. Don't tell me you don't know me. All the Kurans do." That person answered. I shot him a glare.
"Who. Are. You?" I repeated.
"Let's play a game. If you work out this riddle, I will tell you my name."
I thought for a moment, "Alright."
The vampire smirked before proceeding,
"What is greater than God,
more evil than the devil,
the poor have it,
the rich need it,
and if you eat it, you'll die. What am I?"
I begin to repeat his words in my head.
"You time is ticking. You only have 20 seconds."
Tick-Tick-Tick.
The clock on my wall wasn't helping at all.
Tick-Tick-Tick.
Goodness, how am I supposed to figure it out?
Tick-Tick-Tick.
What is greater than God

More evil than the devil

The poor have it

"You're nothing!" I finally yell. The man only chuckled in response.
"Well? I answered it didn't I? Tell me who you are."
"Impatient one aren't you, Emiko?"
Wha?.. How did..
"Well then. My name is Rido Kuran."
*FLASHBACK END*
What had me curious was what he wanted with me. Why couldn't he have taken a liking to Yuuki instead. Everyone did.
I wouldn't blame Rido or anyone for my these set of eyes. I am my own person. I'm nothing like him and I never will be. I am not a monster that take innocent lives of the humans and push them into a world full of violence. I have witness some transformations of Level E's. It was definitely not pretty at all.
Comparing the present time and past, the Level E's are increasing in population. I have received reports from all over the world. One day, there will be now humanity left but hungry savaging monsters taking their place. I will live until the end and make sure I serve my purpose. The one purpose I have been dying to achieve. And it is to find a cure for Level E's.
