Emiko's POV

I open my eyes, everything was quite blurry. I felt someone's arms around me and there were figures that stood around me, seeming to look down at me. What happened?

Slowly, my vision became clear and I had a clear view of my surroundings. There Kaname-onii-sama was, looking down at me with his brown eyes. My eyes then travel two other familiar faces. It was Haruka-sama and Juuri-sama. I couldn't really remember a thing that had happened. What was I doing before?

"Emiko?"

"K-Kaname onii-sama?" My voice was raspy and cold air kissed my face. My eyes wandered around. We seemed to be outside.

"I'm so glad you are alright." Onii-sama said, bringing me close to his chest as he hugged me. I was confused.

"What do you mean?" I questioned, feeling awfully strange.

Juuri-sama and Haruka-sama looked each other hesitantly. The question was more directed to Kaname-nii. I was too afraid to ask them. I was scared they would hit me.

"How about we get you inside first, okay?" Juuri-sama said, kindly. I gulped. She was acting strange. Usually she would never bother giving me a second glance. "Come here, honey." Juuri added, reaching out to me. Her hands had almost touched me but she had stopped her movement when she heard me whimpering and pushing myself further into Nii-sama's chest, attempting to get away from her.

A look of hurt was written across her face and she withdraw hand. Haruka-sama placed a hand on her shoulder to comfort her as he let her lean onto him and cry. I didn't know why she was crying. I've never seen her cry before and it was surprising for me.

Kaname took this opportunity to lift my small body up into his arms before carrying me into the manor, leading the way for Haruka-sama and Juuri-sama to follow the way.

When he entered, the maids and servants rushed to my aid right away. My body was cold and numb, so they had draped a blanket over me. Kaname-nii sat me down on the leathered couch. I had never sat on these before. Juuri-sama had always made me sit on the floor.

I thought Juuri and Haruka would be following us when we had entered the manor, but they seem to still be outside. This gave me time to ask the questions I had bottled up in my mind.

"Kaname-nii, all I remember is that I was bored staying in my room and I decided to leave, then everything went black. I don't remember what happened. Will you please tell me?" I asked, tilting my head. It was the truth. From there I had no recalls of my memories after that. Everybody was acting so strange.

"Emiko.. It is best if you don't know." Nii-sama said, placing a hand on my head as he ran his fingers through my long brown hair.

"But—" I was immediately cut off by a whiny voice.

"Kaname-nii you shouldn't touch her! She's dirty!" Yuki yelled, running towards us and used excessive force to push me away from Nii-sama.

"Emiko!" I heard Nii-sama yell.

I gasped as I fell off the leather seat, nearing to the ground until someone caught me. I looked up to see Haruka-sama.

"Yuki, why would you do that?" Haruka-sama looked angry but he didn't have it in him to yell at her. It wasn't something he would do for me, after all I don't recall her having the same mismatched eyes of our uncle.

At this point Kaname had stood up. I was afraid of Haruka-sama so I had pushed out of his arms and clung to Kaname's torso.

"But papa, I don't want Kaname-nii's hands to get dirty." She said, acting innocently when I knew she was the exact opposite.

"Emiko, are you alright?" Juuri-sama came from behind Haruka-sama and she bent slightly down. She made sure not to get too close to me.

I quickly nod and went to retrieve the blanket that was left forgotten on the floor. I ran back into Kaname's arms, in which he lifted my shaking body up from the floor.

"My apologies, Juuri-sama. I will take her to rest. Please excuse us." Kaname-sama said in a gentle tone.

"Wait, Kaname-nii! I want to go with y—" Yuki was quickly cut off by Haruka-sama who held her back.

I made eye contact with her and she glared at me hard. I didn't know why but this set my blood boiling and I suddenly glared back at her too. She gasped and pulled onto Juuri-sama's dress with one hand while the other was pointing at me. I quickly look away before I was caught.

Kaname took me away from them as we headed up the stairs. I didn't want to go back to the attic. It was so lonely there. I grabbed Kaname-nii's head and turned him to look at me. He stopped in his tracks.

"What is it, Emiko?" He asked, looking into my eyes.

I shook my head from side to side. My eyes stinging from the tears. Please don't take me back there. I silently begged him.

"It's alright, Emiko. I am not taking you there, I promise."

I can only nod to Nii-san's statement and decided to close my eyes.

"Emiko!" I heard someone yell and I gasped and opened my eyes again. I looked around, no one was around besides Nii-san and I. Somehow the voice sounded very familiar.

Was someone calling me? Who was this person?
