[Outer beauty attracts, but inner beauty captivates]

"Jewellery?" Fallon guessed again.
"Nope."
"Shoes?"
"Gosh no."
"Makeup?"
Asher just gave her a disbelieving look.
"Thank god, that rules out all the things I want the least, " Fallon breathed a sigh of relief as Asher laughed a little.
"You are somewhat on the right lines though," Asher gave her a clue, pitying her expression which was a mixture of determination to find out what her present was and confusion at what it could be, "But for now, don't worry about it; let's just go to the beach."
They were hailing a taxi after spending a good couple hours wandering around the Magic Mall and spending their monys not-so-wisely. The weather had managed to stay bright and sunny, so hopefully the beach would still be open. The smell of cigarettes bombarded them as they stepped into the taxi, Asher calling out the rough area where the beach was to the driver. The driver nodded in response and they were off.
As the light shaking of the engine alerted them that they were on the road, Fallon smiled to herself, failing to contain her excitement, "Wait, is it going to be crowded?" she asked, nervousness dawning upon her and filling her with dread as if she had had a bucket of icy water unexpectedly poured on her.
If there were a lot of people, she'd stick out like a sore thumb in her thick hoodie and long-sleeved clothing. On the other hand, taking off her hoodie was definitely an option either.
"Just relax," Asher comforted, leaning over to quickly plant a kiss on her cheek as she nibbled her nails distractedly, not even noticing his affection, "But I can't take off my hoodie," she mumbled in protest.
The warmth of her hoodie had been comforting, like a protective shield for as long as she could remember. Becoming close to Asher and Calbee had helped her talked more confidently and even not wear her hoodie around them persistently, but that insecurity was still there in public. This problem had been with her for a long while, so it wasn't going to disappear and make everything fine and dandy like a fairytale.
Asher sighed from the other side of the car. How on earth was he going to be able to convince her that she was the most enthralling girl he had ever set his eyes on?
She had minuscule flaws, like the tiny mark above her eyebrow where she had told him she had blindly walked straight into a pole, or those little folds in her eyelids that she hated because she thought it made her look wrinkly, but what she couldn't see past her wall of her self-consciousness was that those 'imperfections' made her perfect.
Asher was steadily falling for her every second he spent around her, and he didn't want to stop. He just had to find a way to make her realise that she was not an 'unattractive pig' (as she had once called herself).
As the taxi stopped outside the walkway that lead towards the beach, the clouds looked a lot grimmer, as if holding back their wrath and tucking it away to save for a rainy day. How ironic, Asher quipped, internally rolling his eyes.
Tucking her hair behind her ear, Fallon shut the car door behind her and put her hands in her invitingly warm pockets, glancing over at the beach and visibly relaxing as only the scarce few families roamed the beach, the others having scurried away, foreshadowing the rain.
Fallon smiled. She had always loved the rain.
"Come on, let's walk down this way!"
A couple meters away, Asher waved her over, pointing to the stacked rocks that formed a makeshift staircase for them to walk down. The dark and marble-looking rocks looked as if they would crumble any second or slip apart with the rain between them.
