Lydia's POV
"Why do we have to move?" I asked.
"Lydia we already told you. I got a new job offer that will pay well." Said dad adjusting the mirror of the car.
"Then why couldn't I stay back home. I'm 18 you know and I was supposed to start college with my friends." I was getting irritated now.
"Lets make a deal. If you finish your semester and you still don't like it here. Then you may go back home."
"Really?" I was surprised about the offer. Will he really let me go? But aren't I his baby? Ugh put it together Lydia don't you want to go home?
"Yes. But I'm sure you will love it here. Our new house is way bigger than our old house and making friends will be easy for you. Plus the college here is great." Dad was really trying to be positive.
"Yeah right." I mumble. I looked out the window, waiting to see our new house. I hope it has a pool or at least a big tree. Not sure of what I will do with the tree yet.

I got out of the car taking my backpack with me. He was right the house is way bigger than our old one. I looked around and there were medium size houses like ours around. When I saw the moving truck I smile.
"Hey dad, can you take my bike out first?"
"You are not riding on that thing today" he replied.
"But why? I'm just going to explore the neighborhood."
"I said no, I don't even know why your uncle got you that."
"Because he is cool." My uncle is my dad twin brother. They may look alike but they're very different. My uncle was the bad boy in school, while my dad was the nerd.
"Ok, I will just go unpack." I walked up the front stairs of the house and into the living room. I will just wait until he takes my bike out and sneak out.
"What are you doing?" I got startle by mom that was standing behind me.
"Hi mom." I said behind the curtains of the window.
"Did you see your room?" She asked.
"No, I'm waiting for dad to get all the boxes out of the truck." I replied sitting down on the floor while I watch my dad.
"You're waiting for him to leave so you can get you motorcycle right?"
"How did yo-"
"Lydia, I'm not stupid." she said.
"So I'm assuming you won't let me go out." I said disappointed. Time to go and look for that tree. Maybe I should make a tree house.
"Ugh, ok here is the plan. I will call your father and you get your bike and go." she whispered.
"Really!" I squeal getting up. Forget about the tree.
"Yes, but on one condition. When you get home you will unpack." She looked serious.
"Ok deal. Now call him." I rushed her.
"Alright" she said walking into the kitchen.
After mom called dad I went outside put my helmet on and started the bike.
I was going down some houses when one caught my eye. It was the biggest one of the block. I slowed down and was almost in front of the house.
"That's Elliot's house." A girl said startling me. She was in the balcony of her house.
"Who's that?"
"I'm guessing you are new here." she started walking closer to me, studying me. "I'm Samantha." She said extending her hand for me to shake.
"I'm Lydia."
"Oh like the banshee in Teen wolf" I can see she is a fan.
"Yeah, I get that a lot." I admitted
"So yeah that's Elliot's house. He is the richest guy in the neighborhood and the university of course."
"How old is he?" I asked looking at the house again. It was a really nice house, 3 times bigger than mine.
"20" she said.
"And he lives with his parents no?" I assume.
"Yup"
"Then he is not the rich one, his parents are." I said like it was the obvious thing ever.
"Well yeah, but his dad is going to give him his company. So technically he is already rich." She said walking away. That's nice, not having to work for something in your life.
"Well I better get going. I have a lot of stuff to do. You're starting tomorrow, right? The semester I mean."
"Yeah. I'm going to Jorge's town university (the name is made up)" I replied, trying to stay on balance with my bike.
"Yeah, that is the only university around here. Well see ya." she said heading inside her house.
I started my bike and kept riding. I found a small park and decided to chill there. I parked my bike and got off it.
I saw some swings and went to sit on one. A few minutes past and it was getting dark, I stood up and started walking. It started to rain soon after.
"Great" I said sarcastically. I walk faster when someone bump into me and started to walk again.
"Hey!" I yelled. The guy turn around.
"What?" He said in a harsh tone.
"You can always say excuse me or apologies, haven't your mother taught you manners." I said. He started to get closer to me. I couldn't see him well because of the rain.
"Who are you?" He ask.
"I'm Lydia."
"Well Ly-dia my mom did taught me manners, but that doesn't mean I have to use them." he started walking again.
"Well you must be the biggest asshole there is." I shout with my head held high.
"Do you know who you're speaking to?" He asked annoyed and getting a little too close for my liking.
"I don't know, are you the president?" He started laughing at my sarcasm.
"I like you. I believe I will be seeing you around more. I'm Elliot" he introduce himself.
"Don't be too sure about that, Elliot." It started raining heavier now.
"Well I'm sure, you just won my attention." he said turning around to start walking.
"Asshole" I mumble
